    Abstract:

    The advances in IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) Technology enable new user-centric and interactive TV model, in which context-awareness is promising in making users interaction with the TV dynamic and transparent. This paper considers user-centric personalized IPTV services applying context-awareness. We present a solution for enriched IPTV services personalization introducing context-awareness on top of IPTV architecture to gather different information on the user and his environment allowing each user to be distinguished by the system in a unique and real-time manner. Based on the different context information gathered, a novel solution for content recommendation is presented allowing to customize IPTV content according to the context of each user and his environment and hence guaranteeing better users experience. We implemented the proposed solution on top of an IPTV platform considering the NGN IPTV architecture as a proof of concept and as a mean to evaluate the performance.

In this article we present the different existing contributions that employ context-awareness to allow interactive services. Some of these contributions directly focus on TV, while others are proposed for specific NGN services. We present a technical analysis for these solutions and give some guidelines for future deployment of personalized IPTV services.

    Nowadays, a new type of viewing mode - 360 degree panoramic film gradually appears in people’s field of vision. The Spotlight Stories app developed by Google, the whole film of “HELP” is a 360° panoramic view. The gyroscope and accelerometer in the mobile phone are used to adjust the angle of the movie, and the sample can be rotated at the same time as the mobile phone is rotated. The angle you want to see. This is just the initial exploration of the panoramic film, which offers unlimited possibilities for the development of future panoramic films. In this paper, the author will study the new aesthetic experience characteristics brought by the application of virtual reality Technology in the film.   • A Relational Study of Students' Academic Achievement of Television Technology in Technical Colleges in Delta State of Nigeria

    Abstract:

    This study examined the relationship between the male and female students’ academic achievement in the subject of Television in urban and rural technical colleges in Delta State. There are two research questions and one null hypothesis formulated to guide the study. The population for the study consists of 731 students of the six technical colleges in the Delta State offering Television Technology as a subject. No sampling was conducted due to the small number of students involved in the study. The two research questions were answered using percentages while the null hypothesis was tested using ANOVA at 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed that males performed better than their female counterparts. It was also revealed that urban students performed better than their rural counterparts in NABTEB examinations in 2005 and 2006 respectively. There is no significant difference in the mean scores of male and female students in Television subjects in technical colleges. There is a significant difference in the mean scores of students in Television in urban and rural technical colleges. Based on these findings, it was recommended that teachers should teach the practical and theoretical aspect of the Television subject to improve the academic achievement of students.
