    Abstract:

    Ochrotrichia , with about 160 extant species in the New World, is the most diverse genus assigned to the Ochrotrichiinae. Despite its diversity, only eight species were previously recorded from Brazil, only one from Rio de Janeiro state. In this paper, we describe three new species from Parque Nacional da Tijuca, an Atlantic Forest area at Rio de Janeiro. Ochrotrichia nematomorpha sp. nov. is placed within the O. xena Group, having a plate-like Tergum X, with an unusual phallus which is slender and pointed apically. Ochrotrichia sagitta sp. nov. and O. taunay sp. nov. belong to the O. aldama Group, each having a divided Tergum X, but being distinguished from the others in this group by the arrowhead-like apex of left lateral process of Tergum X ( O . sagitta ) and the presence of two dorsal spine-like projections on Tergum X ( O . taunay ). Furthermore, O. caatinga Souza, Santos & Takiya, 2014 is reported for the first time from Rio de Janeiro state.

    Abstract:

    Four new species of Xiphocentron (Antillotrichia) Brauer, 1870 from the Atlantic forest are diagnosed, described and illustrated. All of them have a small mesal sclerite and a set of spines, differing in size, density and position, on the inner face of the inferior appendage. Moreover, Tergum IX varies mostly in the shape of the posterior margin. Four species are described as new for science. Xiphocentron (Antillotrichia) copacabana sp. nov. is distinguished mainly by the projected basoventral margin of the inferior appendage, the spines are clustered in two regions and the quadrate posterior region of Tergum IX. Xiphocentron (Antillotrichia) maracanan sp. nov is differentiated by the inferior appendage, with a strongly angled apical region of 90o. Xiphocentron (Antillotrichia) redentor sp. nov. differs by the inferior appendage, with a linear row of thick spines, and the Tergum IX, with a posterior margin forming smoothly rounded lobes. Xiphocentron (Antillotrichia) tijuca sp. nov. is diagnosed by the subbasal region of the preanal appendage, which is markedly projected medially, and by the inferior appendage, which is thin subapically, enlarged apically and strongly bent dorsad.

    Abstract:

    Cernotina Ross, 1938, with 64 extant species, is a New World genus of caddisflies. In Brazil, there are 31 described species, of which 28 are recorded from the Amazon basin. Cernotina puri sp. nov. is described and figured based on specimens collected in the Atlantic Forest, state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The new species can be distinguished by the shape of intermediate appendages and Tergum X. The immature stages are unknown.

    Abstract:

    Phylloicus monneorum sp. nov. is described and illustrated based on specimens collected in the Mantiqueira mountain range, Itatiaia, state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The new species is the smallest within the genus. The male can be distinguished by the preanal appendages short, wide, flattened and with irregular margins, and by the deeply V-shaped Tergum X. The female is also described and figured. The immature stages are unknown.
