finite element analysis of anti break performance and anti shock strength of the armored steel Thermit Welding joint
Welding Technology, 2007Co-Authors: Liu YuejiAbstract:The Thermit Welding does not need the electricity and the gas, and the Welding can be done under extremely crude condition. It is available to the battlefield emergency repair. The HAZ of Thermit Welding joint is very sensitive to the flaws, which is the weakness point of anti-break performance. Considering the complex distribution of mechanics properties in the Thermit weld joint, the stress field and strain field and the CTOD parameter are calculated by means of the finite element analysis method with regard to the armored steel basic metal and the actual Thermit weld joint stretching plate of different crack sizes. And taking complete yield theory as the basis, the anti-break performance is compared and appraised, using the CTOD parameter for the pure basic metal and Thermit Welding joint. Under similarly distributed load the anti-shock strength is analyzed with regard to cracking armor plate and the Thermit Welding armor plate.

Development of a Single-use Crucible for Alumino-Thermit Welding
China Railway Science, 2004Co-Authors: Cui Cheng-linAbstract:Parameters of raw materials selected for making the single-use crucible such as orthosand, resin sand and bonding agent are analyzed. Performances such as strength, air release, surface stability and thermal resistance of resin sand are studied to ensure the suitability of resin sand. A single-use crucible of formed resin self-hardening sand is used for Welding with the average hardness of the Welding joints being 288 HB, the main mechanical parameter Rm 790 MPa and average stationary bending 1 500 kN. Tests are conducted on the hardness, mechanical performance and stationary bending strength of the Welding joints according to TB/T1632-91. Impurities of Welding joints and metallic phase appearance of Welding seam are analyzed and a comparison is made with the Welding joist made with a magnesium crucible. Test results show that the single-use crucible developed meets the requirements for alumino Thermite Welding.

development of cars ztk i 60kg m 1 railalumino Thermit Welding consumables
China Railway Science, 2008Co-Authors: Qiu DehaiAbstract:CARS ZTK-Ⅰ 60 kg·m-1 alumino-thermic Welding consumables are developed according to the theory of rail thermic-Welding.Chemical elements of Welding metal mainly are C,Si,Mn,and other microelements are used to adjust the performance the Welding metal, like intensity, hardness, tenacity, etc. The pouring temperature of the Thermit metal could be appropriate if the weight of aluminium powder and the ferric oxide is 79.3% of the total weight of the Welding powder. The speed of Thermit Welding reaction is the fastest when the grain size of aluminium powder is 40~80 mesh and the grain size of ferric oxide powder is 30~60 mesh,at the same time the Thermit powder is not easily sliced. And Thermit reaction relief additive is used to reduce splash of the molten steel during the reaction. The sand mould structure is optimized by means of computer simulation of thermic steel flow field and solidification field in the pouring system.One-shot crucible is improved by stable raw material and improved thimble setting up structure. The static bending, fracture, fatigue, hardness, tensile and microstructure of the joint are inspected, and the results accord with the standard. The performance of Welding joints is excellent after long time on site application. The Welding consumables are applied both home and abroad.

Possibilities of joining techniques application at railway lines joining and maintenance
Croatian Metallurgical Society, 2011Co-Authors: I. Samardžić, M. Dunđe, A. PintarićAbstract:This paper presents most important techniques which is possible to apply at joining of railway lines as well as maintenance procedure. Beside Thermit Welding as a older joint process for that job (since 1895.) it is mentioned flash Welding as a modern joining technique interesting from the point of cost efficiency. In a case of maintance tasks it is necessary to caunt arc Welding processes and Thermit Welding, too. Authors gave some experimental date collected during investigation on railway lines joining techniques application

finite element analysis of Welding temperature and residual stress field of Thermit Welding
Welding Technology, 2010Co-Authors: Su ChangqingAbstract:The Welding model of finite element was established and the Welding process was simulated by means of the unit’s living and dying technique and the coupling function between heat and structure by the ANSYS software, during which the dynamic temperature and the dynamic residual stress fields were achieved, and the simulation results were almost identical with the measuring results. The simulation results showed that the optimal pressing time was from 55 s to 255 s after Welding, the residual stress was probably the most on the locations of fusion zone, transverse tensile stress occurred mostly in fusion zone, and maximal tensile stress had approached 212 MPa, and some data which could provide reference for the Welding technical design had been acquired .
