Time Management disposition and a type personality in college students
Chinese journal of clinical psychology, 2004Co-Authors: Zhang YonghongAbstract:Objective: To investigate the relationship between college students' Time Management disposition and A-type personality. Methods: 320 college students were investigated by Time Management Disposition Scale and A-Type Personality Scale. Results: College students' personality types had positive correlation to their Time Management disposition.A-type students' Time Management disposition score was significantly higher than that of the B-type students'.Conclusion: College students' personality type had close relationship with their Time Management disposition.

An efficient algorithm in the HLA Time Management
2007 Winter Simulation Conference, 2007Co-Authors: Huaimin WangAbstract:The HLA Time Management is an important factor that limits the scalability of distributed simulations. An efficient algorithm of greatest available logical Time (GALT) is thus much critical for the Time Management in an RTI to support large-scale simulations. The concept of GALT in IEEE 1516 was also called lower bound Time stamp (LBTS) in HLA 1.3. The computation of GALT in the HLA Time Management is different from that of LBTS in traditional parallel discrete event simulation (PDES). In this paper, an algorithm about GALT is presented and its correctness is proved. Its efficiency is also explained by applying it to RTI1.3-NG. In fact, the algorithm has been implemented in our RTI to support thousands of federates in our cluster systems. In addition, a real-world example is introduced to explain the correctness of the algorithm proving, and the reason of our RTI supporting large-scale simulations.

Implementation of Time Management in A RunTime Infrastructure
Proceedings of the 2006 Winter Simulation Conference, 2006Co-Authors: Huaimin WangAbstract:The high level architecture (HLA) Time Management is concerned with mechanisms for guaranteeing message order, process synchronization and execution correctness in distributed simulations. Time Management greatly influences on the scales of applications, especially for the computation of greatest available logical Time (GALT) and the implementation of optimistic services. StarLink is an RTI with central architecture, which is compliant with the IEEE 1516 standard. This paper systematically describes the implementation algorithms for main Time Management services in StarLink. Two smart and efficient algorithms about GALT computation and optimistic services are also introduced, which are suitable for many RTIs such as RTI1.3-NG, pRTI and DRTI. For the GALT algorithm, it is not necessary for an RTI to resolve the recursion nor any deadlock. For optimistic services, a simple mechanism without rollback in an RTI is also introduced; therefore, it can greatly simplify the development of an RTI.

Time Management for Web Service Composition
2007 11th International Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work in Design, 2007Co-Authors: Ying Li, Shuiguang DengAbstract:Recently Web service composition is a hot research spot, but there is no any transitional Management issues concerned, including the Time Management. The Time Management is a crucial issue in web service composition. This paper presents a Time Management model for the environment. In this model a service should provide necessary Time value,. In this way Web service definition language will be expanded, and Time Management in web service composition can be simplified. On the other hand, it preserves the autonomy of the web services.

Time Management and procrastination
2020Co-Authors: W. Van EerdeAbstract:This chapter combines the topics Time Management and procrastination. Time Management is an overarching term derived from popular notions on how to be effective at work. Procrastination has been mainly researched from a personality perspective, addressing the emotional and psychological issues of the phenomenon in more detail. First, I describe Time Management and procrastination, and next I address interventions that may help people in overcoming procrastination. Studies on Time Management show that it is a useful intervention to gain control and to reduce stress. Three types of interventions have been used to overcome procrastination: training self-regulatory skills including planning and Time Management; building emotional strength; and using social support. There is no clear evidence pointing out whether all types need to be used for all people, and a more individually targeted approach is probably best. Planning and Time Management should be the core of the intervention. However, planning one’s own the behavior is partly trait-like, has emotional connotations, and involves self-regulation. Thus, many find procrastination difficult to change. That is why planning is probably not enough to reduce procrastination. Procrastinators need to develop emotional strength and benefit from support of others to provide the control that they are lacking.

Procrastination at work and Time Management training.
The Journal of Psychology, 2003Co-Authors: W. Van EerdeAbstract:Abstract The author examined the impact of Time Management training on self-reported procrastination. In an intervention study, 37 employees attended a 1 1/2-day Time Management training seminar. A control group of employees (n = 14) who were awaiting training also participated in the study to control for expectancy effects. One month after undergoing Time Management training, trainees reported a significant decrease in avoidance behavior and worry and an increase in their ability to manage Time. The results suggest that Time Management training is helpful in lessening worry and procrastination at work.
