  • Evaluation of Web Usability Requirement Model and Web Application Interface Components
    2019
Co-Authors: Nirjhor Anjum, Mithun Sarker, Syed Ishteaque Ahmed
    Abstract:

In web application, being a non-quality Requirement, Usability has been quite a concern for a product to be more successful and efficient for users in the competitive market. User centric design methodology is also based on Usability design. Even Usability is just a nonfunctional Requirement but Usability analysis and design can impact the behavioral Requirement of a web application in a great extent. The review and feedback sessions are done during prototype design and sometimes like in agile XP process during the user interface designing step. A web application is built on collection of defined HTML controls and components. Our ultimate goal would be to model a guideline of Usability Requirements for different web application components based on different characteristics of Usability like learnability, efficiency, memorability, error recovery, flexibility. In this paper we have evaluated a composite Usability Requirements model based on the Usability Requirement attributes & principals and categorization the web application components based on web application design and interaction context.

  • From Usability Requirement to technical specifications for hand-held tools and materials: An applied research in the construction field
    Work, 2012
    Co-Authors: Gabriella Duca, Erminia Attaianese
    Abstract:

Literature shows incidence of musculoskeletal disorders in bricklaying workers as well as the relevance of good designed hand-held tools in musculoskeletal disorders prevention. In this framework, it can be supposed that providing usable hand-held tools and material in construction worksites will help to improve bricklayers' working conditions. Here a study is presented aimed at framing a methodology for Usability assessment of bricklayers handled objects, in order to provide employers with practical indicators for choosing tools and materials best fitting workers needs, under the effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction perspective. On the basis of a task analysis, Usability Requirements for bricklaying hand-held tools and materials have been detailed and related, quantitative and qualitative, technical specifications have been elicited. Theoretical framework and Usability assessment methodology are presented and, finally, findings from a field application are discussed.
