  • Technic and economic evaluating model of Xianrenyan Aluminum deposit in Zunyi
    Mineral Resources and Geology, 2009
    Co-Authors: Zhu Cheng-lin
    Abstract:

Xianrenyan Aluminum deposit is located at Zunyixian in Guizhou province, which is one of the main deposits in the Zunyi Aluminum Ore belt with the largest scale, good Ore quality and open mining condition. It is not utilized in large scale. The paper has proposed a set of technic and economic argumentation with the combination of analyzed method and economic calculation. The result indicates that the investment effect is good in the exploitation of Xianrenyan Aluminum deposit.Investment compensating period is 5.62 years with investing yield of 17.79 percent. It is much higher than 10-12 percent of referred benchmark yield of national alumina factory. The mine and alumina factory will benefit great in the future.

  • PROSPECTING MODE AND PROSPECTIVE FOreCAST IN THE ZUNYI Aluminum Ore BELT
    Geology and Prospecting, 2007
    Co-Authors: Zhu Cheng-lin
    Abstract:

After many years geological reconnaissance and exploration, total proved reserves is 54,370,000 tons in the different mines or blocks of Zunyi bauxite belt which shows a large deposit scale. The belt has been recorded in the book of "Discovery History in China · General Volume".Regional geology,Ore geology and Ore genesis of Zunyi bauxite are simply introduced. After discussion of richen regularity and prospecting symbol, regional prospecting mode is established, which will be helpful for further Ore-finding of blinding and half-blinding Ore bodies in the north Guizhou province.Five prospective fOrecast regions are divided in the outside of Zunyi bauxite mine.

  • Potential denitrification in submerged natural and impacted sediments of Lake Batata, an Amazonian lake
    Hydrobiologia, 2001
    Co-Authors: F. A. Esteves, A. Enrich-prast, D. D. Biesboer
    Abstract:

Lake Batata is one of many clear water lakes located on the floodplain of the Trombetas River in the northern Brazilian Amazon. Lake Batata is distinctly different from other lakes of this region because, for a period of 10 years, its waters received tremendous amounts of Aluminum Ore tailings from a bauxite mining operation. Approximately 30% of the sediments of the upper basin of the 2100 hectare lake were covered by tailings befOre dumping was curtailed. The goal of this research was to identify factors controlling denitrification in the natural and impacted sediments of Lake Batata. Rates of denitrification in sediments were estimated in the laboratory by the acetylene blockage method. Denitrification was measured under four conditions: without amendment; amended with glucose; amended with nitrate; and amended with glucose and nitrate. Denitrification was observed only in assays amended with nitrate suggesting that availability of nitrate is a principle factor for controlling denitrification in the sediments of Lake Batata. Effects of nitrate amendments are most pronounced when the water level is low, i.e. during the hydroperiods of draw-down and low-water.

  • Study of the dielectric parameters of aluminium Ore bauxite of Mainpat area of Chhattisgarh at X-band frequency
    Sadhana, 2004
    Co-Authors: S. K. Srivastava, B. R. Vishwakarama
    Abstract:

A simple method for measuring the dielectric parameter of materials in the form of powders at microwave frequencies is suggested. Measurement of the permittivity ε′ and ge″ at 9·967 GHz on powder samples of the Aluminum Ore bauxite gives interesting results. It is found that ε′ and ε″ increases with packing densities ( δ ). Further ε′ and ε″ also depend upon the percentage of Al_2O_3. These results show that the values of ε′ and ε″ can be used to set certain basic values for minability of the Ore for a particular sample. Conductivities (σ) and relaxation (τ) are also calculated in the present studies

  • Separation of NaOH and NaAl(OH)4 in alumina alkaline solution through diffusion dialysis and electrodialysis
    Journal of Membrane Science, 2014
    Co-Authors: Yan Haiyang, Shuai Xue
    Abstract:

Abstract Alkaline solution containing NaOH and NaAl(OH) 4 is produced largely during extracting Aluminum from Aluminum Ore. Conventionally alkali and alumina-bearing components in the solution are separated by purification, filtration and precipitation, so that gibbsite precipitation is obtained and the alkaline liquor can be returned to the circuit. The feasibility of membrane separation, including diffusion dialysis (DD) and electrodialysis (ED), is investigated by batch DD and ED running with total 6.15×10 –4  m 2 and 2.865×10 –3  m 2 membranes, respectively. The DD running shows that the dialysis coefficient of OH − ( U O H − ) is at a low level (0.0028–0.0031 m/h), mainly because of the hydrophobic nature of the membrane matrix and absence of a pressure difference or an electrical field as the driving force. The OH − recovery ratio is 6.3%, the Al(OH) 4 − leakage ratio is 0.6%, and the caustic ratio ( α k ) can reach up to 17.8 after 4 h. As for ED running, the OH − recovery ratio is substantially enhanced, while the Al(OH) 4 − leakage and α k value can still meet the industrial requirements. The OH − recovery ratio, Al(OH) 4 − leakage ratio and α k are 48.0%, 12.6% and 7.9, respectively, when OH − concentration is ~1.55 mol/L in the feed chamber, and the ED current density is 350.0 mA/cm 2 . The current efficiency is 62.5% and the energy consumption is 12.43 kW h/kg, relatively high because of use of a 0.01 m plexiglas spacer between two neighboring membranes, the increase of the solution temperature which is caused by the high current density. Overall, the ED process is a mOre effective approach to treat the alumina alkaline solution. Much higher alkali concentration and recovery ratio can be achieved in a short time because of the higher permeability, leading to higher treatment capacity for ED device. The DD process, on the other hand, has advantages of low energy consumption, low membrane fouling and environmental friendliness.
