Honey has sweetened mankind‘s food for millennia. America is not elusive to this concept and even before the conquest; honey was already produced in this continent. In Mexico, due essentially that its territory has great biodiversity, the production is widespread. Furthermore, it is recognized that beekeeping is called alternative production due to the wide production possibilities range. However, as all productive practices, it has variants in time which must be analyzed to define the best development option. For this purpose, the apiculture environment analysis is made in the State of Nayarit. The concept covers the definition of producers conditions in the State (internal conditions), and other States of the country, the world (external conditions) of the same industry related to the honey and its possible forms of production around bees (organic honey, propolis, Royal Jelly, wax, Apitherapy, pollination and different industrial products), the final objective is to take decision

    'Uludag Aricilik Dergisi', 2021
Co-Authors: Cırık, Vildan Apaydın, Aksoy Bahar
    Abstract:

Honey production and beekeeping practices are more common in the Eastern Black Sea region. This study was conducted to determine the knowledge, experience and attitudes the use of personal and professional Apitherapy of pediatric nurses working in the pediatric clinics of the largest hospitals in the Eastern Black Sea region. The study was conducted with 227 pediatric nurses who volunteered to participate in the study, working in six hospitals in Turkey's Eastern Black Sea region. In this study, there is a correlation between gender, having child, clinical experience, and the use of Apitherapy. Honey is the most common apitherapeutic product used by nurses both for personal (40,4%) and clinical use (39,1%). Nurses stated that they do not know bee venom, and they know very little about propolis and royal jelly. The nurses listed their positive experiences concerning honey's capacity to "alleviate cough symptoms, treat gastritis, strengthen immune system, effectively heal wounds and burns" and their negative experiences concerning its side effects, such as allergy, dizziness, headache, and itching". It is important that nurses take responsibility for the Apitherapy method included in complementary and alternative medicine methods and that nurses can use evidence-based Apitherapy methods. It was recommended that nurses should be knowledgeable and careful about the benefits and side effects of Apitherapy

Published by Elsevier , 2011
Co-Authors: Faúndez Poblete W., Narváez Carrasco C.g., Burgos Arias A.
    Abstract:

Prostaglandin E2 is one of them, being present in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF). Prostaglandin E2 is evidenced in periodontal disease.ObjectiveThis study evaluated the antiinflammatory effect of apitoxin on concentration of prostaglandin E2 FGC in a patient with no periodontal disease (SEP) and other with periodontal disease (CEP).Materials and MethodsWe selected both a SEP and CEP patient who were subjected to Apitherapy for 28 days. There were 5 samples per patient of FGC, being stored, centrifuged and refrigerated for their preservation. Subsequently, the concentrations of crevicular prostaglandin E2 were measured by simple radial immunodiffusion in petri dishes with antibody concentration of prostaglandin E2 of 1:1000. Sealed at 4°C, after 72 hours to allow diffusion, they were stained with Coomassie Brilliant Blue, determining the concentration of each plate.ResultsSEP patient immediately before Apitherapy presented a concentration of 0.9636±0.0055 (g / mL), ending with a concentration of 0.9196±0.0733 (g / mL) upon completion of 28 days of treatment. CEP patient before receiving Apitherapy showed a concentration of 1.1866±0.0867 (g/mL), ending with a concentration of 0.9858±0.0074 (g/mL) upon completion of 28 days of treatment.DiscussionThe findings of this study show a decrease in the concentration of PGE2of FGC both for the CEP and SEP patient subjected to Apitherapy for 28 days, being this decrease 3.7 times higher in the CEP patient
