Effectiveness of using smart TVs for teaching engineering

To produce these leaders, the teaching–learning models of universities must evolve, their infrastructures must be re-engineered, and the professors’ roles must adapt to these needs. One of the actions undertaken in this regard consists of making Audiovisual Equipment and media become supplementary elements of the teacher’s educational work, thus ensuring the rational use of the media. This work shows how to use a new trend of information technology and communications by using smart TVs for self-rehabilitation. This low-energy-consuming solution as part of the educational process provides useful technical aspects, and our outline provides some other ideas for incorporating this technology into the teaching–learning process. We propose a rehabilitation training system attached to a Smart TV using a device with IoT sensors to create a good home environment for those who need treatment of rehabilitation for hand injuries. At the same time, we used this approach in our project to engage engineering students to solve a real-world problem or answer a complex question in the area of public health. In this paper, we also report the results of this work-in-process.

An Appraisal Of Public Branch Libraries In Nigeria: The Case Of Delta State Public Branch Libraries
Information Technologist (The), 2009Co-Authors: Mu UgbomaAbstract:The study investigated the Delta State Public Library Board and critically appraised the developmental growth i n physical and human resources in the past ten years; 1998 – 2008. 6 branch libraries located in the three senatorial districts of the Delta State Public Library Board were used as population for the study. The questionnaire, personal observation and inter views were the instruments used in data collection. Findings revealed that the Delta Public Branch Libraries are about 30 years old. In these years, there has not been any significant developmental growth in physical, material and human resources to match the parallel growth in information need and use of the society in which they are located. The study revealed that Audiovisual Equipment and materials were totally lacking in these branch libraries. For book collections, the study revealed that library hold ings fall short of the required volumes to serve the population of the areas surveyed, though they hold a vibrant collection of periodicals, especially newspapers. A significant revelation of the study is that the Delta State Public branch libraries have h ardly improved on staffing; of a total 83 staff members, only 7.22% are professionals while 3.61% are para -professionals. The remaining 89.17% are non -professionals. The recommendations highlight possible paradigm shift in policy thrust and funding.

Smart TV with Free Technologies in Support of Teaching-Learning Process

One of the actions undertaken in this regard consists of making Audiovisual Equipment and media become a supplementary element of the teacher’s educational work, and thus ensuring the rational use of the aforesaid media. This paper shows how to use a new trend of information technology and communications, using hybrid or smart TVs. This low-cost solution for low energy consumption, conceived as part of the educational process at all levels of the Island, provides some technical aspects and also shows, in the outline, some other ideas for incorporating this technology into the teaching-learning process. The results of laboratory tests are likewise shown.
