A New Serovar of Bacillus Thuringiensis: Bacillus Thuringiensis subsp. sinensis
Virologica Sinica, 2000Co-Authors: Li RongAbstract:A new strain YK30 04 of Bacillus Thuringiensis was isolated from soil in YunnanProvince, Kunming in 1989. It was determined as a new serotype H70 by agglutination tests. Parasporal crystals were bipyramidal shape and contained two proteins of 135kD and 130kD. Strain YK30 04 showed lower toxicities to the larva of Plutella xylostella and Prodenia litura, whereas no activities to the larva of Tenebrio molitor and Culex fatigans. Thus the strain YK30 04 was identified as a new serovar: Bacillus Thuringiensis subsp. sinensis.

Characterization of crystal-forming bacteria Bacillus Thuringiensis subsp. tohokuensis toxic to mosquitos
Izvestiia Akademii nauk. Seriia biologicheskaia, 2006Co-Authors: V. P. Khodyrev, G V Kalmykova, L I Burtseva, V V GlupovAbstract:Distribution study of Bacillus Thuringiensis strains in Western Siberian soils allowed us to isolate crystal-forming bacteria assigned to a new pathovar of Bacillus Thuringiensis ssp. tohokuensis with a toxic effect on mosquito larvae. A description of this bacterial pathovar is presented.

Design of an aqueous two-phase system for the purification of ICP from Bacillus Thuringiensis
Process Biochemistry, 1994Co-Authors: Leopoldo Güereca, Alejandra Bravo, Rodolfo QuinteroAbstract:Abstract A method is described for the purification of Bacillus Thuringiensis protein crystals based on an aqueous two-phase system distribution, composed of potassium phosphate-polyethylene glycol-water. This method is simple, one step, fast, inexpensive and efficient compared with other techniques. It has been used successfully to purify and characterize the protein crystals from several strains of Bacillus Thuringiensis .

Complete Genome Sequence of Bacillus Thuringiensis Serovar Sichuansis Strain MC28
Journal of bacteriology, 2012Co-Authors: Peng Guan, Xiaojuan Dai, Jing Zhang, Jun Zhu, Li Qiao, Qiming Deng, Shiquan WangAbstract:Bacillus Thuringiensis is an important microbial insecticide used in the control of agricultural pests. Here we report the finished, annotated genome sequence of Bacillus Thuringiensis serovar Sichuansis strain MC28, which can form parasporal crystals consisting of Cry4Cc1, Cry30Fa1, Cry53Ab1, Cry54Aa1, Cry54Ab1, Cry68Aa1, Cry69Aa1, Cry69Aa2, Cry70Ba1, Cyt1Da1, and Cyt2Aa3. It is also highly toxic to lepidopterous and dipterous insects.
