    Abstract:

    Presented in this paper is an experimental and analytical study on the ultimate strength of the thin-walled Box Girder with the longitudinal stiffeners subjected to bending and torsion. An experimental apparatus for applying both the bending and torsional moments to Box Girder specimens was newly developed. Through this experimental apparatus, the behaviors up to the collapse and the ultimate strength of these thin- walled Box Girder specimens with the longitudinal stiffeners were investigated. An interaction curve for the combined actions of bending and torsion at the ultimate state of curved Box Girders were also proposed. (A) For the covering abstract see IRRD 864118.

    Abstract:

    In this paper,the full process of concrete thin-walled Box Girder prestressed with external carbon fiber reinforced polymer sheets was tested.The regularities of stress increment variation of the external prestressing CFRP of concrete thin-walled Box Girder under different load levels are studied in details.Based on the analysis of the test results,the calculation methods for the stress increment of the external prestressing CFRP of the concrete thin-walled Box Girder at different loading stages are developed.The analytical results of the full process of the test agree fairly well with the field measurements.The reliable experimental basis will be helpful to the application of externally prestressed CFRP in concrete thin-walled Box Girder,which has important theoretical and practical value.
