    Abstract:

    Germination experiments of cajanus cajan of different variety seeded in different depth in nutritious soil and red soil were carried out. The results showed that within the treatments in nutritious soil, there was no significant germination difference between ICPL87119 and CK, ICPL87 and ICP8094, ICPL87 and CK, and the difference between ICPL87119 and ICPL87, ICPL87119 and ICP8094 were all significant. The optimum seeding depth in nutritious soil was 2~5 cm. Among the treatments in red soil, there were significant differences between the tested varieties and CK, and no significant differences between different varieties, and the optimum seeding depth was 2 cm.

    Abstract:

    Two new stilbenoid dimers, cajanstilbenoids A (1) and B (2), were isolated from the leaves of cajanus cajan. Planar structures of these compounds were verified by NMR (1D and 2D) and high-resolution electrospray ionization mass spectroscopy (HR-ESI–MS). Absolute configurations were assigned by comparing experimental and calculated electronic CD values. The cytotoxicity of 1 and 2 against human hepatoma (HepG2), human breast adenocarcinoma (MCF-7), and human lung cancer (A549) cells were evaluated in vitro. Compound 1 showed strong cytotoxicity against all the tested cell lines (IC50 values: 2.14–2.56 µM), whereas compound 2 showed strong toxicity only against HepG2 (IC50 value: 5.99 µM) and A549 cells (IC50 value: 6.18 µM).

    A new isoprenylated flavanone, naringenin-3′-isoprenyl-7-methyl ether, was isolated from the chloroform extract of the leaves of cajanus cajan. Its structure was eluciated by spectral analysis, mainly 1D and 2D NMR.

    Abstract:

    Two new stilbenoids cajanotone and cajanamide A (1-2), together with another six known ones (3- 8) and four known dihydroflavones (9-12), have been isolated from the leaves of cajanus cajan. Their structures were elucidated based on spectroscopic studies. A possible pathway to the new compounds 1 and 2 has been proposed. In vitro cytotoxicities of selected compounds against cancer cell lines HepG2, MCF-7 and A549 have been evaluated. Compounds 7 and 8 show strong cytotoxity against all the tested cell lines (with IC₅₀ values in the range of 3.5 - 6.0 μM), and compounds 1 and 3 showed strong to moderate activity against the three cell lines.
