an analysis of chinese provincial Carbon Dioxide Emission efficiencies based on energy consumption structure
Energy Policy, 2016Co-Authors: Yaqin Liu, Guohao Zhao, Yushan ZhaoAbstract:Abstract China plans to reduce Carbon Dioxide Emissions from 2005 levels by 40–45% by 2020 and by 60–65% by 2030. This research project addresses this challenge by analyzing Chinese provincial Carbon Dioxide Emission efficiencies and the energy consumption structure. The study applies the Slacks Based Measure (SBM) model to analyze the data from 30 regions in China from 2000 to 2011. The situation of provincial Carbon Dioxide Emission efficiency, the characteristics of the energy consumption structure in each province, and the differences among these provinces are quantitatively analyzed. Based on the K-means cluster analysis, this research suggests that China be divided into five groups in the energy consumption structure: the inefficient and less reasonable group, the inefficient and more reasonable group, the efficient and less reasonable group, the efficient and more reasonable group, and the efficient and most reasonable group. The study offers recommendations for the government to develop policies to effectively and efficiently reduce Carbon Dioxide Emission levels for each group. It also has profound implications for government administration in developing countries to guide the energy consumption and to control environmental pollution for the healthy development of the economy.

analysis on Carbon Dioxide Emission reduction during the anaerobic synergetic digestion technology of sludge and kitchen waste taking kitchen waste synergetic digestion project in zhenjiang as an example
Waste Management, 2017Co-Authors: Qia Guo, Xiaohu DaiAbstract:Abstract With the popularization of municipal sewage treatment facilities, the improvement of sewage treatment efficiency and the deepening degree of sewage treatment, the sludge production of sewage plant has been sharply increased. Carbon Emission during the process of municipal sewage treatment and disposal has become one of the important sources of greenhouse gases that cause greenhouse effect. How to reduce Carbon Dioxide Emissions during sewage treatment and disposal process is of great significance for reducing air pollution. Kitchen waste and excess sludge, as two important organic wastes, once uses anaerobic synergetic digestion technology in the treatment process can on the one hand, avoid instability of sludge individual anaerobic digestion, improve sludge degradation rate and marsh gas production rate, and on the other hand, help increase the reduction of Carbon Dioxide Emissions to a great extent. The paper uses material balance method, analyzes and calculates the Carbon Dioxide Emissions from kitchen waste and sludge disposed by the anaerobic synergetic digestion technology, compares the anaerobic synergetic digestion technology with traditional sludge sanitary landfill technology and works out the Carbon Dioxide Emission reductions after synergetic digestion. It takes the kitchen waste and sludge synergetic digestion engineering project of Zhenjiang city in Jiangsu province as an example, makes material balance analysis using concrete data and works out the Carbon Dioxide daily Emission reductions. The paper analyzes the actual situation of Emission reduction by comparing the data, and found that the synergetic digestion of kitchen waste and sludge can effectively reduce the Carbon Dioxide Emission, and the reduction is obvious especially compared with that of sludge sanitary landfill, which has a certain effect on whether to promote the use of the technology.

heat recovery ventilation operation traded off against natural and simple exhaust ventilation in europe by primary energy factor Carbon Dioxide Emission household consumer price and exergy
Energy and Buildings, 2012Co-Authors: Jelle Laverge, Arnold JanssensAbstract:Abstract Indoor air pollution has a negative impact on human health, comfort and productivity. Emissions, however, are often related to essential functions of the indoor environment and cannot be eliminated with source control. Ventilation is then used to dilute these pollutants to acceptable concentrations. Due to recent crises in the energy markets and the subsequent quest for higher efficiency in energy use, heat recovery ventilation has gained capstone status in sustainable building concepts. However, along with a reduction of ventilation heat loss, operating a heat recovery unit increases the pressure drop and fan power consumption in the system. These aspects are rarely traded off against each other and even more scarcely for a broad range of operating conditions. This paper addresses this trade-off based on primary energy, Carbon Dioxide Emission, household consumer energy price and exergy frameworks for the different climates in Europe. The results presented here demonstrate that, for the moderate climate region of middle Europe, natural ventilation, simple exhaust mechanical ventilation and heat recovery ventilation have no clear advantage over each other as far as operating energy is concerned. Realistically low specific fan power will make heat recovery ventilation advantageous in virtually all tested conditions.

The Role of Renewable, Non-renewable Energy Consumption and Technology Innovation in Testing Environmental Kuznets Curve in Malaysia
International Journal of Energy Economics and Policy, 2019Co-Authors: Mohd Haizam Mohd Saudi, Obsatar Sinaga, Noor H. JabarullahAbstract:This current paper investigates the role of renewable energy, non-renewable energy and technology innovation in testing the Environmental Kuznets Curve in Malaysia by using the annual data over the time from 1980 to 2017. We applied the advance econometrics to serve the purpose of investigation and therefore used the Auto Regressive Distributed Lags bound testing approach for assessing the presence of long-run relationship between the variables. The results of ARDL bound testing approach confirm the valid long run relationship between renewable energy, non-renewable energy, technology innovation and economic growth with Carbon Dioxide Emission in Malaysia. The empirical results indicate that renewable energy consumption and technology innovation have significant and negative impact on Carbon Dioxide Emission whereas, the non-renewable energy consumption and economic growth have a significant and positive impact on Carbon Dioxide Emission. Furthermore, results also confirm the existence of inverted U-Shape curve in Malaysia.
