    O presente estudo teve como objetivo determinar as alterações biomecânicas decorrentes da modificação da técnica de avanço da tuberosidade tibial (TTA), originalmente descrita para estabilização da ruptura do Ligamento cruzado cranial. Foram avaliados 10 cães, sem raça definida e com peso entre 25 e 30kg, submetidos à eutanásia por razões independentes do presente estudo. Os membros pélvicos foram distribuídos em dois grupos: G1 operado (n=10) e G2 controle (n=10), representado pelo membro contralateral. Os membros operados foram submetidos à avaliação ortopédica, goniométrica e radiográfica nos momentos 1 (articulação intacta), 2 (após desmotomia do cruzado cranial), 3 (após estabilização articular pela TTA modificada) e 4 (após a desmotomia do cruzado Caudal). A tuberosidade tibial foi estabilizada por um parafuso cortical em posicionamento cranioCaudal e um espaçador de titânio inserido no local de osteotomia. A posição do tendão patelar perpendicular em relação ao platô tibial promoveu a neutralização da força de cisalhamento tibial cranial, apesar da permanência do movimento de gaveta cranial em todos os joelhos. Os testes biomecânicos confirmam a viabilidade do método empregado para estabilização da tuberosidade tibial e sustentam a realização de estudos clínicos futuros para validação da técnica.The present study aimed to determine biomechanical alterations resultant from a modification in the fixation method of the tibial tuberosity advancement technique (TTA), originally described for stabilization of the cranial Cruciate-deficient stifle.     This study was performed to evaluate the action of the fraction of total mononuclear cells from the bone marrow (FCMO) applied intra-articularly after the surgical repair of an experimentally ruptured Cruciate Ligament. Twenty dogs which suffered one-sided Cruciate desmotomy of the cranial and Caudal Cruciate Ligament 21 days before the correction were used. Ten animals received the FCMO at the time of correction. The assessments were done through X-ray and clinical examinations, and biopsies at 50 and 90 days postoperatively. It was concluded that there was no clinical difference between the two groups until 90 days of evaluation. The group that received FCMO grew intra-articular bone shown on the X-ray study. All twenty animals, however, presented cells marked with CD34 antibodies on their biopsy samples, indicating the presence of stem cells in both groups. It is concluded thatfor theexperimental model, it is not recommended to use the mononuclear cell fraction,andin experimental studies with the use of stem cells in the joints models whose focus of injury keep direct contact with the bone marrow should be avoided.

    Avaliou-sea ação da fração total de células mononucleares autógenas da medula óssea (FCMO) por aplicação intra-articular, após a correção cirúrgica do Ligamento cruzado rompido. Foram utilizados 20 cães, os quais sofreram desmotomia do Ligamento cruzado cranial e Caudal unilaterais, 21 dias antes do reparo cirúrgico. Dez animais receberam as células autógenas no momento da correção. As avaliações se deram por estudo radiográfico, exames clínicos e biópsias aos 50 e 90 dias pós-operatórios. O grupo que recebeu a FCMO apresentou crescimento ósseo intra-articular ao estudo radiográfico, contudo os 20 animais apresentaram célulasCD34 positivas em suas amostras biopsiadas, indicando haver presença de células-tronco em ambos os grupos. Conclui-se que,para o modelo experimental proposto, não se recomenda o uso da fração total de células mononucleares e que trabalhos experimentais com o uso de células-tronco nas articulações devem evitar modelos cujo foco de lesão mantenha contato direto com a medula óssea.This study was performed to evaluate the action of the fraction of total mononuclear cells from the bone marrow (FCMO) applied intra-articularly after the surgical repair of an experimentally ruptured Cruciate Ligament.     Objectives: The first aim of this study was to examine whether or not variations concerning the conformational characteristics of the proximal surface of the tibial plateau exist among six different dog breeds as well as within the same breed. The second aim of this study was to determine the coordinates of the Cruciate Ligaments. Methods: One hundred and four tibias of 52 mature dogs from six different breeds were used. Photographs of the proximal surface of tibial plateau were taken, and measurements for the length, width and area of the tibial plateau, and the lateral and medial condyles were taken. In addition, the intercondylar width, height of Gerdy’s tubercle, popliteal notch depth, and extensor groove depth were measured and recorded. The quotients from these measurements were calculated and compared amongst the dog breeds. The coordinates of the Cruciate Ligaments, according to the centre of tibial plateau, were also determined. Results: Based on the calculated quotients, variations in the geometry of the tibial plateau geometry were common among the breeds. Within the same breed, on the other hand, length and width measurements of the tibial plateau were the least variable parameters among the other parameters examined. The cranial Cruciate Ligament was located in front of the surface centre of tibial plateau in all breeds. The position of cranial Cruciate Ligament was more variable in the cranioCaudal direction than that observed in the mediolateral direction; this was the exact opposite of Caudal Cruciate Ligament. Clinical significance: The inter-breed variations of the quotients determined in the present study may facilitate attempts aimed to assess the risk factors of stifle joint injury and to design total knee prostheses.
