Because of this a radical scavenger as an antioxidant has been sought in food materials. Soy sauce is a traditional fermented seasoning of East Asian countries and is available throughout the world. The relationship between the peroxyl radical scavenging capability using the luminol Chemiluminescence Method and melanoidin, the main product from aminocarbonylation, i.e., Maillard reaction, from soy sauce was examined. In this study, we report that soy sauce has a very high antioxidative capacity and from the comparisons of the IC 5 0 values of 26 soy sauces in the case of the optical density of the soy sauce's color being standardized, it was found that not only melanoidin is an antioxidative product, but also other products have strong antioxidative properties.

Peroxyl radical scavenging capability of fish sauces measured by the Chemiluminescence Method

A radical scavenger as an antioxidant has been sought in foods. Fish saucesare traditional Asian fermented seasonings. Using the luminol Chemiluminescence Method, the peroxyl radical scavenging capability of fish sauces was examined. From the IC 5 0 values, many fish sauces have been shown to have a strong scavenging capability as well as soy sauces. A scavenging mechanism is also proposed.

A strong Chemiluminescence signal was detected when a mixture of the analyte and tris-(4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthrolinedisulfonic acid)ruthenium(II) was injected into cerium(IV) sulfate. The Chemiluminescence signal is proportional to the concentration of prulifloxacin in the range 4.0 × 10−8–9.0 × 10−6 mol L−1. The detection limit is 1.0 × 10−8 mol L−1, and the relative standard deviation is 2.2% (n = 11) for the determination of 8.0 × 10−7 mol L−1 prulifloxacin. The proposed Method was successfully applied to the determination of prulifloxacin in pharmaceutical preparations in capsules, spiked serum, and urine samples.

Determination of Triprolidine Hydrochloride in Capsules and Binding Study of Triprolidine Hydrochloride to Serum Albumins with Chemiluminescence Method
Spectroscopy Letters, 2014Co-Authors: Mei LiuAbstract:A new Chemiluminescence Method combined with flow injection analysis was developed for the determination of triprolidine hydrochloride. It was based upon the significant enhancing effect of triprolidine hydrochloride on the Chemiluminescence reaction of N-bromosuccinimide with luminol in presence of gold nanoparticles as a catalyzer. Under the optimum conditions, the relative Chemiluminescence intensity was linearly related to the concentration of triprolidine hydrochloride in the range of 1.0–750.0 µg/L. The detection limit (3s b/S) was 0.2 µg/L and the relative standard deviation was 1.2% for 0.1 mg/L triprolidine hydrochloride solution (n = 11). The Method was applied to the determination of triprolidine hydrochloride in capsules and the study of interactions of triprolidine hydrochloride with two serum albumins, bovine serum albumin and human serum albumin. A discussion on the possible Chemiluminescence reaction mechanism was also undertaken.

Study on the binding behavior of bovine serum albumin with cephalosporin analogues by Chemiluminescence Method

It was found that the hydrophilic luminol bound to the hydrophilic domain at Trp 134 of BSA with accelerating the electrons transferring rate of excited 3-aminophthalate, which led to the enhancement CL intensity of luminol at 425 nm. The increment of Chemiluminescence intensity was proportional to the concentrations of bovine serum albumin from 5.0 × 10 −11 to 1.0 × 10 −8 mol L −1 with the linear equation of Δ I = 7.47 C BSA + 4.89 ( R 2 = 0.9950). Based on the remarkable quenching effect of cephalosporin on the luminol–bovine serum albumin Chemiluminescence system, the interaction of bovine serum albumin–cephalosporin was studied by flow injection-Chemiluminescence Method. A valuable model for studying the interaction of bovine serum albumin–cephalosporin was constructed and the formula lg[( I 0 − I )/ I ] = lg K D + n lg[ D ] was obtained. The binding parameters calculated by the model did agree very well with the results obtained by fluorescence quenching Method. The major binding force of bovine serum albumin with cephalosporins was the hydrophobic effect. The binding ability of cephalosporin analogues to bovine serum albumin followed the pattern: cefoperazone, ceftriaxone and cefotaxime > cefuroxime and cefaclor > cefadroxil, cefradine and cefazolin, which was close to the order of their antibacterial ability. Using flow injection Chemiluminescence Method also obtained the stoichiometric ratio, the average of association constant K P and dissociation degree α of luminol–bovine serum albumin were 1:1, 1.12 × 10 7 L mol −1 and 0.086, respectively.
