    Abstract:

    * Corresponding author Abstract Five new species and 1 new genus of predaceous cheyletid mites (Acari: Cheyletidae) are described. Oconnoricheylus gen. nov. (type species O. speciosus sp. nov.) differs from Alliea in both sexes by the presence of 4 setae on tibia II and in males by the palpal claws possessing elongated projections, an apically slightly serrate eupathidium ul' and comb-like eupathidia acm and sul. Oconnoricheylus speciosus sp. nov. (from oranges, USA) differs from O. chimaera (Bochkov & Ochoa) comb. nov. (transferred from Alliea) by the presence of 2 filiform setae on tibia II, the distinct ornamentation of the dorsal shields, and by the absence of angles on the leg tarsal claws. Cheletomimus crowei sp. nov. (from avocado, New Zealand) differs from C. filipina Corpuz-Raros and C. notelaeae Gerson by smooth filiform setae dF of the palpal femur, smooth idiosomal setae c2, the presence of setae ps3, setae se located off the propodonotal plate, bases of setae e1 located almost at the same level with bases of e2, and by the propodonotal shield in the shape of an inverted trapezium. Chelache- les thomasi sp. nov. (from oranges, Australia) differs from C. stigmaeoides Barilo by the absence of setae c4, short and serrate rod-like setae c2 (about 40 long), and by the presence of 2 setae on femur III. Chelacheles indra sp. nov. (from beetles Sinoxylon crassum, India) differs from C. baiwanganae Corpuz-Raros by the absence of setae f1, by setae h1 being slightly shorter than other hysteronotal setae. Bak indonesiensis sp. nov. (from undetermined beetle, Indonesia) differs from B. elongatus Patxot & Goff and B. faini Corpuz-Raros by the presence of 1 seta (l') on genu III, the slightly clavate dorsal setae of the idiosoma, setae e1 being subequal in shape and sizes to their anterior hysteronotal setae, and by the presence of a pair of distinct lateral teeth on the rostral shield.

    Abstract:

    A new species of predaceous mite, Cheletomimus (Hemicheyletia) crinitus sp. nov. (Acariformes: Cheyletidae), is described from Eocene Baltic amber based on a fossil female. Among species of the genus, it belongs to the C. (H.) wellsi species group (16 extant species) and differs from the closely morphologically related species, C. greenwoodi by the following features. In C. crinitus sp. nov., setae d2 are situated on the hysteronotal shield (vs. off this shield in C. greenwoodi), the propodonotal and hysteronotal shields each bear five pairs of median setae (vs. 3 and 1 pairs of median setae, respectively), setae h1 and h2 are subequal in width to other lateral hysteronotal setae (vs. half the width of other hysteronotal setae)

    Abstract:

    The reconstruction of the phylogeny of the mite family Cheyletidae (Acari: Prostigmata) was effectuated by a cladistic method with the software PAUP 3.1. Representatives of most of the cheyletid genera have been examined. The predator mites of the fami ly Stigmaeidae were used as outgroup. The analysis was based on 91 morphological characters. The obtained strict consensus tree has included 13 principal clusters and numerous ungrouped genera. Among these ungrouped genera, two genera, Bak and Caudacheles may be recognized as separate groups, since they possess some autapomorphie characters, which clearly separate these mites from the other cheyletids. All the established groups have been considered as tribes and the ungrouped genera have been included in the paraphyletic tribe "Cheyletini"

    Abstract:

    The mite superfamily Cheyletoidea (Acari: Prostigmata) includes 5 families: Cheyletidae, Syringophilidae, Harpirhynchidae (including Ophioptinae), Psorergatidae, and Demodicidae. A new hypothesis of cheyletoid phylogeny was carried out with maximum parsimony approach. Raphignathus collegiatus (Raphignathidae) and Storchia robusta (Stigmaeidae) were selected as outgroups. Cheyletoid ingroup species are represented by Eucheyletia asiatica and Cheyletiella parasitivorax (Cheyletidae), Syringophilus bipectinatus and Picobia sturni (Syringophilidae), Harpyrhynchoides columbae, Harpypalpus holopus and Ophioptes parkeri (Harpirhynchidae), Psorobia foinae (Psorergatidae), and Demodex folliculorum (Demodicidae). These species exhibit most charac-ters observed in cheyletoid mites. Their character states were selected on the basis of strong a priori evidence of their being stable or ancestral in respective families or subfamilies. In total, 11 terminal taxa and 127 characters (11 autapomorphies) were included in the analysis. All characters were unordered and unweighted. The exact search option (Branch and Bound) was used.     Abstract:

    Relationships within the Neoeucheyla generic group (Acari: Cheyletidae) are studied by means of cladistic methods with HENNIG 86 software. The analysis of 1 2 species shows, that this group consists of 3 valid genera: Neoeucheyla Radford, 1950 (2 species), Bothrocheyla (3 species) and Cunlifella (7 species). The latter genus includes two species groups which are characterized by presence or absence of vesicular chambers. New improved diagnoses are proposed for all three genera

The reciprocal exchange of outgroup positions showed the same result. The topology of obtained cladogram corresponds to the phylogenetic hypothesis proposed earlier (Bochkov 2002) with exception for the branch bearing the families Epimyodicidae and Cloacaridae, because they were recently excluded from the superfamily (Bochkov and OConnor 2008).

    : House dust mites in house dust have cosmopolitan distribution. House mites live from eating the remaining cask of human skin scale and grow in a humid environment. Mites are commonly found in beds, carpets, and clothes. This study was aimed to obtain the types and density of dust mites in Kelurahan Kleak Kecamatan Malalayang Manado. This was a descriptive study with a cross sectional study conducted from October to January 2015. Samples of dust were collected from bed, bedroom floor, and sofa in residential houses by using technique simple random sampling. The results showed that there were 5 dust mite samples from Pyroglyphidae, Glycyphagidae, Acaridae, Cheyletidae, and Chortoglyphidae families. Density of house dust mites was 199 mites/13.46 g of dust. The most dominant type of dust mites was the Glycyphagidae family and the highest percentage of its population was in the bedroom floor meanwhile the most dominant population in bed was the Pyroglyphidae family. Conclusion: There were 5 dust mite families- Pyroglyphidae, Glycyphagidae, Acaridae, Cheyletidae, and Chortoglyphidae with the density of 199 mites/13.46 g of dust. The most frequently found mites was the Glycyphagidae family

    Abstract:

    : Mites have an important role as a source of allergens in allergic diseases such as asthma, rhinitis, and other atopic diseases. House dust mites (HDMs) are found mainly in the bed, carpet, and floor. HDMs have an important role as the source of house dust allergens. It is important to identify the types of HDMs in an area to determine the nature of HDM allergens. This study aimed to determine the types and density of HDMs in the Malalayang Dua Manado. This was a descriptive study with a cross-sectional design. Samples of dust were collected from houses at Malalayang Dua by simple random sampling method. Of 96 samples of house dust, there were 82 positive mite and 14 negative mite samples. A total of 216 mites were obtained in samples of HDMs. The most abundant was Pyroglyphidae family (107 mites), followed by Glycyphagidae (51 mites) dan Cheyletidae (6 mites) families. The densities of HDMs were di 36.92 mites/g dust on beds, 15.94 mites/g dust on the sofas, and 11.41 mites/g dust on the bedroom floors with an average 21.42 mites/g dust. Conclusion: In Malalayang Dua, there were 3 types of house dust mites as follows: Pyroglyphidae (the most), Glycyphagidae, and Cheyletidae families. The highest density of house dust mites was in the dust on beds meanwhile the lowest one was in the dust on bedroom floors
