    Abstract:

    The present work is an experimental account of the way in which several machine settings, particularly cylinder knock-over and dial-height, influence fabric dimensions, course length, bending behavior and load extension of fabrics produced on a Circular Knitting machine. The results show that there are certain optimum settings for such variables as knock-over depth and dial-height for producing fabrics with optimum liveliness, dimensions and bending behavior. This study confirms the suggestion that due to the asymmetry of fabric take-down on Circular double jersey machines, it is not possible to produce a fabric with identical properties on the face and back sides. No conclusive evidence of robbing yam from the cylinder loops to dial loops which cause asymmetry in the fabrics could be found but alternate suggestions were examined.

    Abstract:

    In view of high fault rates of tension control system in the traditional Circular Knitting machine, this paper proposes and develops one kind of monolithic integrated circuit yarn tension control system. By using the FTA method to analysis systematically each kind of trouble cause in yarn tension system, and analysis influencing reliable factor of real-time control system, established fault tree the Circular Knitting machine tension control system. Based on the MCU technology, the sensor network in the program is constituted by ordinary sensor node, the sink node and network coordinator, and responsible for acquiring and transmitting condition information of Circular Knitting machines. The tension control system has been entered experiment movement with good performance, it is indicated that the this study is benefit to enhance the reliability of yarn tension system.   • Reliability Analysis of Yarn Tension Control System Based on FTA in Jacquard Loom

    Abstract:

    Aimed at the problem of high failure rate in the tension control system of traditional Circular Knitting machine, this paper proposes and develops a kind of embedded yarn tension control system. Systematically study the causes of different failures in yarn tension control system and analysis the influencing reliability factors of real-time control system by FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) method, built system fault tree with qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, work out the minimal cut set of system and estimate the occurrence probability of the top event. Figure out specific improvement measure and provide reference to enhance the system reliability. The improved tension control system is running steadily in the experiments, and analyzes the result turns to be beneficial to improve the reliability.

    Abstract:

    High-speed electronic jacquard Circular Knitting machine was recognized as a green machine to protect environment. It can easily produce any kind of pattern on cloth without pollution, while the printing and dyeing cloth technology may produce wastewater, which hardly polluted the environment. A new electronic jacquard technology has replaced the traditional printing and dyeing technology. A control system must be researched to satisfy the high-speed jacquard Circular Knitting machine. This paper introduced the control system structure and the organization of the pattern data, tested the pattern data accuracy by feedback acquisition system, and used Electronic Design Automation (EDA) technology implemented the production of the acquisition system, emulated the time sequence accuracy by EDA professional software, and tested the frequency of the pin selector. The result is that the pattern data organization and acquisition testing and implementation have offered the theoretical foundation for the production of control system.

    A miniature winding machine was designed and made for winding special-shaped coil used for driving Knitting needle used in the test prototype of electromagnetic levitation Circular Knitting machine. The machine adopts USB1020-Altai independent four axis motion control card and 42 stepper motor as its hardware drive system, and at the same time, through the Qt Creator interface program based on Windows platform as its control system. The using shows that the winding machine has the advantages of accurate wiring, high winding quality and wide application range. The main technical indexes, structure, working principle and control system of winding machine are introduced.

  • Effect of fabric softener on properties of a single jersey knitted fabric made of cotton and spandex yarn

    Purpose – The purpose of this research is to study the effect of softener treatment on plain jersey fabrics with properties made of cotton and spandex yarn.Design/methodology/approach – Samples with 100 percent cotton yarns, spandex yarns in alternating courses (half plating) and spandex yarns in every courses (full plating) were produced on a Circular Knitting machine where the two latter cases were produced at five different levels of spandex extension. After the dyeing process, fabrics were treated with fabric softener using two softener types (cationic and silicon) and all type two concentrations (3 percent, 6 percent) to evaluate the most appropriate softener type and concentration on fabric friction force, sewing needle penetration force and weight loss percent under different levels of spandex extension.Findings – Results showed that silicon softener treatment results in high decreases in fabric sewing needle penetrating force, friction force and while treatment with cationic softener results in hi...

  • Properties of Single Jersey Fabrics Made of Cotton

    This research studies the effect of the extension increase % of bare spandex yarns during loop formation and also effect of fabric softener treatment on properties of plain jersey fabric made of cotton and spandex yarns. Samples with 100% cotton yarns, spandex yarns in alternating courses (half plating) and spandex yarns in every courses (full plating) were produced on a Circular Knitting machine where the two latter cases were produced at five different levels of the spandex extension. Thermal setting was carried out without any traverse tension during finishing to evaluate the full effect of spandex extension. After dyeing process, fabrics were treated two different fabric softener types cationic, silicon and two concentrations %. Results showed that there is a sharp increase in courses density rather than wales density, fabric thickness and weight per unit area were also increased with considerable decrease in air permeability in the case of half and full plating.

    This paper has proposed a drive theory for magnetic suspended Knitting needles based on the magnetic suspension theory. The feasibility of the principles for suspended-driven needle selection of Circular Knitting machine has been discussed. The mechanical characteristics of needles under different drive conditions, and the stress analysis of electromagnetic force have been simulated with ANSYS software.
