APSCC - Using Fuzzy Measures to Assess Service Satisfaction Values of Retailers
2012 IEEE Asia-Pacific Services Computing Conference, 2012Co-Authors: Song Zhou, Yong LiAbstract:A fuzzy approach to assess service satisfaction values of retailers is discussed in this paper, which has been developed from fuzzy assessment methods and applied to questionnaire analysis of retailers' service satisfaction. Subjective judgments are often vague and it is not easy for retailers to express the satisfaction of service quality using an exact numerical value, and suggest the necessity of using a fuzzy approach. Applying the fuzzy approach, service satisfaction values are identified and organized into five basic service types service of Client Manager, ordering service, delivering service, consulting and complaint service, and business environment. Finally, the uncertainties of the service satisfaction value sets are quantified by the measure of fuzzy entropy.

Vendor boundary spanning in Indian Information Technology (IT) companies
Asia Pacific Journal of Management, 2019Co-Authors: Smita Prashant Chattopadhyay, Madhuchhanda Das AundheAbstract:Boundary spanning is an important mechanism for the successful and efficient management of Client-vendor relationships in Information Technology (IT) outsourcing. Vendors are often responsible for initiating boundary-spanning between the two parties, and the final effectiveness of boundary-spanning often hinges more on vendors rather than on Clients. Boundary-spanners are individuals, who operate at the boundary of an organization, performing functions like external representation and information processing. The idea that boundary-spanning can become an organizational capability is well acknowledged in prior literature; but research regarding this process is limited. Boundary-spanning is often left to the ingenuity of the individual performing the role, preventing its development as an organizational capability. Therefore, this study attempts to uncover the process and develop the building blocks of the organizational capability in managing Client-vendor relationships in IT outsourcing. We adopt an exploratory case study method for theory building to address the question, “How do vendor boundary-spanners influence Client-vendor relationships in IT outsourcing engagements?” We use multiple-case design (9 cases) for literal replication. Our propositions show that the practices of an effective boundary-spanner involves establishing a dyadic tie with the Client-Manager; strengthening the established tie based on shared context; using it to identify a joint problem; and developing interpersonal trust while solving this joint problem. The outcome of this interpersonal trust then gets appropriated through Client-Manager’s structural networks and contributes to the vendor organization’s business growth. This study uses the social capital lens to develop propositions regarding how boundary-spanners operate.

When Subordinates Become IT Contractors: Persistent Managerial Expectations in IT Outsourcing
2020Co-Authors: J. MackAbstract:This paper investigates the persistence of Managerial expectations in an IT outsourcing context where the traditional relationship between supervisor and subordinate changes to one of Client-Manager and contractor. A mixed-method approach was used, in which a qualitative methodology preceded a large-scale quantitative survey. Data were collected from 147 survivors of a government IT organization which had undergone IT outsourcing in the previous year. Findings show that role overload, the presence of strong ties between Manager and contractor, and the lack of prior outsourcing experience increased the persistence of Managerial expectations. In turn, persistence of expectations had a distinct influence on Managerial perceptions of contractor performance. Thinking over Improving Competition Power of State-owned Banks——A Practical Analysis on State-owned Banks in a City
Journal of Henan College of Financial Management Cadres, 2020Co-Authors: Du Guo-qiangAbstract:With increasingly strengthened tendency of economic and financial globalization,state-owned banks are being cofronted with problems of how to construct and accelerate competition power.A comparison of the four state-owned comprehensive competition power of commerical banks in A city by exploiting multi-target assessment pattern suggests that there is no positive relevance between competition power of banks and their size, and competition power of small-sized banks cannot be looked down upon. Therefore, subdivisions and branches of state-owned commercial banks should conduct institutional innovation, cultivating unique services, preventing bad assets, highlighting fostering of talents, promoting of overall cost management, realizing of Client Manager system,so as to steadily improve competition power of their own.
