Pyrolysis of polycarbonate in Coal-Tar pitch

The composition of the liquid products of pyrolysis was determined with the use of gas chromatography–mass spectrometry; the modified Coal-Tar pitch and the pyrolysis residue were studied by Fourier transform IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and the determination of softening point, concentrations of substances insoluble in toluene and quinoline, and yields of volatile substances. Because of chemical interaction with Coal-Tar pitch, the thermal degradation of polycarbonate in Coal-Tar pitch occurs at considerably lower temperatures than destruction without a solvent with high selectivity for phenol and p -isopropylphenol. Hydrogen transfer from the Coal-Tar pitch to the polycarbonate degradation products initiates polycondensation reactions in the Coal-Tar pitch.

Review of Coal Tar Preparation and Processing Technology
Advanced Materials Research, 2012Co-Authors: Jun Xia ZhangAbstract:To generate Coal Tar with Coal is the key technology of Coal chemical industry, the generated Coal Tar is one of the important industry fuel and chemistry raw materials, and more attentions were attracted in Coal Tar preparation and processing technologies in recent years. Therefore, review of the updated technologies is developed at the present work. As for Coal Tar preparation technology, Coal carbonization processing and Coal hydropyrolysis are mature and has been applied to industry production. In comparison, hydrogenation of Coal Tar is just at the development. In term of Coal Tar processing technology, the present leading directions are how to manufacture clean fuel as well as phenol. Based on the status of Coal Tar preparation and processing technology, resources recycling use isn’t enough, consumptions of per ton Coal is higher, environmental pollution is serious, and deep processing technology of Coal Tar needs to be raised.

HYDROGEN-ACCEPTING MODIFICATION OF Coal Tar PITCH ROAD BINDER
Journal of Fuel Chemistry and Technology, 2020Co-Authors: Jin Ming-linAbstract:The change in group component of the Coal Tar pitch road binder modified by tired rubber with reaction time and its modified mechanism were studied The average structural parameters of the Coal-Tar-pitch ,solvent oil and modified road binder were calculated by Brown-Lander formula using NMR, ultimate analysis and average molecular weight Results showed that the TS(toluene soluble of the binder modified with rubber)increased from 45 0% to 61 5%,HS(heptane soluble)decreased from 27 0% to 14 4%,TIS(toluene insoluble)decreased from 28 0% to 24 1% as compared with the binder without rubber In contrast of the 1H-NMR of the group components of the rubber with those of the road binder,there were the same H pulses at δ=5 5 5 3 It was considered that the rubber,as a hydrogen donor,might take part in the modification of Coal Tar pitch and formed a new asphaltine It was the hydrogen-accepting function of the Coal Tar pitch that the quality of the Coal Tar pitch road binder was improved
