An Analysis of Energy Consumption and Saving Energy Practices for Delayed Coking Units
2013Co-Authors: Cnooc HuizhouAbstract:By taking a series of technical optimization measures such as stopping the use of 3.5MPa steam for the reboiler on the desorption column and 1.0MPa steam for the diesel stripper, reducing the circulation ratio, introducing APC to raise the heat efficiency of the heating furnace, lowering the power consumption by high-pressure water pumps and vacuum residue pumps in the tank area, raising the rate of wastewater recovered and increasing the volume of feedstock processed,CNOOC Huizhou Refinery successfully lowered the overall energy consumption of its 420 ×104t/a delayed Coking unit by 3kg of oil equivalent per ton of feedstock processed from the unit′ s designed energy consumption level of 39.03kg of oil equivalent per ton of feedstock processed. To further cut energy consumption and raise the energy efficiency of the unit to the level of other advanced domestic units of the same type, the company took additional measures during a scheduled overhaul in 2011 to raise the heat efficiency of its heating furnace to 91.5% from 89%.These measures included reducing flue gas temperature for the heating furnace by means of energy-saving upgrades, generating 0.45MPa steam using the low-temperature heat from diesel production, replacing the impellers of the coker rich gas compressor, and upgrading the special valve steam seal lines in the Coking Drum area.As a result,3.5MPa steam consumption dropped by about 6.5t/h and consumption of fuel gas, steam and power also went down. The overall energy consumption of the delayed Coking unit dropped by 3.16kg of oil equivalent per ton of feedstock processed. The energy savings are equivalent to increasing the company ′s revenues by 40 million yuan per year.

delayed Coking Drum quench overflow system and method
2014Co-Authors: скотт александер, джон д уордAbstract:A delayed Coking Drum quench overflow system and method, which relate to removing hydrocarbon particulates from an overflow stream in a delayed Coking Drum quench operation. In one embodiment, an improved overflow system incorporates one or more filters to remove hydrocarbon particulates from the system before passing through a conventional closed blowdown system.

Coking Drum shut off valve for a Coking Drum and method for feeding residual materials into a Coking Drum
2013Co-Authors: Ekkehard BrzoskaAbstract:Coking Drum for producing petroleum coke, comprises: a cylindrical base body; at least one inlet opening and an outlet opening, where a check valve (1) is arranged at the outlet- and/or inlet opening; and at least one access opening (19) for feeding residual substances obtained from a vacuum-distillation process upstream to the Coking, into the Coking Drum, arranged approximately at a height of the check valve. Independent claims are also included for: (1) check valve, preferably a tube bridge slider for the Coking Drum, comprising an integral feeding device, which comprises at least one feed opening and at least one feed channel (21) communicating with the feed opening, for feeding waste materials into the Coking Drum connected to the check valve; and (2) feeding the residual substances into the Coking Drum connected with the check valve, comprising feeding the residues approximately at the height of the check valve into the Coking Drum.

valve and the system of throttling of the lower cover of the Coking Drum
2003Co-Authors: рубен ф лах, гари ларсенAbstract:FIELD: coke industry; devices and the systems for throttling of the lower cover of the Coking Drums. SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the field of coke industry, in particular, to the device and the system for usage of the casing in the shutoff valve connected with the Coking Drum. The system contains the casing (20) and the block of the gate seal (32), which with possibility of sliding abuts to the slide valve (64) for prevention of the vapor permeation through the seal. The block of the gate seal (32) contains the gate seal, which loosely moves inside the guiding cylinder for reduction of the amount of the vapor at relocation of the slide valve (64) between the "open" and "closed" positions, and the loading spring for creation of the force on the gate seal, preventing the leakage of the vapor through this gate seal. The slide valve (64) contains the hole, through which the abrasive materials are passing, and the changeable ring made out of the abrasive resistant material. At that the ring is attached to the slide valve (64) on its lower side. The invention is safe and effectively cuts the Coking Drum after formation of the coke and other by-products. EFFECT: the invention is safe and effectively cuts the Coking Drum after formation of the coke and other by-products. 15 cl, 5 dwg
