    Abstract:

    Most Software visualization systems and tools for maintenance are designed from a single-user perspective and are bound to the desktop and IDEs. These design decisions do not allow developers to analyze Software Collaboratively or to easily interact and navigate visualizations within a co-located environment. In my PhD thesis I conducted an exploratory study of how 44 pairs of professional Software developers use Source is, a Collaborative Software visualization application, on a large multi-touch table in a co-located environment. The thesis contributes to a richer understanding of how pairs of developers collaborate with shared visualizations on large interactive tabletops to gain insight into the structure and evolution of Software systems.

We present SourceVisa multi-user Collaborative Software visualization application for use on large multi-touch tables. We describe the design and visualization features of SourceVis, present findings from a user study, and discuss the implications for building Collaborative Software visualization applications.

    We developed a Collaborative Software development community-ware whose goal is to provide practical tasks for the students in Software engineering education in a university and to provide Software for education purpose. We performed a pilot experimentation for the community-ware. The results show that Software requesters made Software change requests for not only functional aspects but also user interface. This paper proposes a user interface oriented requirement elicitation process. The process is that Software requesters present functional requests and user interface design which met the requests. Then based on the requests and the user interface, developers and Software requesters decide priority for each requirement in a Collaborative manner.

This paper presents the Software Design Board, a prototype Collaborative design tool supporting a variety of styles of collaboration, and facilitating transitions between them. The design of Software Design Board was motivated by empirical research demonstrating the importance of such support in Collaborative Software design, as well as activity analysis identifying the lack of support in existing tools for different styles of collaboration and transitions between them.
