evaluation of Comprehensive Treatment models for individuals with autism spectrum disorders
Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, 2010Co-Authors: Samuel L Odom, Laura J Hall, Brian A Boyd, Kara HumeAbstract:Multiple dimensions of Comprehensive Treatment models (CTMs) for learners with autism were evaluated in this study. The purpose of the study was to provide evaluative information upon which service providers, family members, and researchers could make decisions about model adoption, selection for a family member, or future research. Thirty CTMs were identified, with the majority based on an applied behavior analysis framework, although a substantial minority followed a developmental or relationship-based model. As a group, CTMs were strongest in the operationalization of their models, although relatively weaker in measurement of implementation, and with notable exceptions, weak in evidence of efficacy.

a Comprehensive Treatment approach for patellofemoral pain syndrome in young women
Physical Therapy, 1997Co-Authors: Roland ThomeeAbstract:Background and Purpose. The purposes of this study were (1) to evaluate a Comprehensive Treatment approach for patients with patellofemoral pain syndrome and (2) to compare a training program using isometric muscle contractions with a training program using eccentric muscle contractions. Subjects. Forty female patients with patellofemoral pain syndrome, aged 15 to 28 years (X=20.2, SD=3.2), were randomly assigned to either a group using isometric muscle contractions or a group using eccentric muscle contractions. Methods. The effects of 12 weeks of Treatment, consisting of an educational component and a training program, on physical activity, pain, and muscle function were evaluated after 3 and 12 months. Results. No differences were found between the two groups, except in one of the torque measurements. A reduction in pain and improvements in torque, vertical jumping ability, and physical activity level were seen in both groups after Treatment. At the 12-month follow-up, 85% of the subjects were participating in sports without pain and 37 subjects rated their overall knee function as excellent or good. Conclusion and Discussion. The results indicate that the improvements shown in this study may be due to spontaneous recovery over time, the education given to the subjects, the pain monitoring system, the gradually progressing training program, and the adjusted physical activity.

analysis of small incision with laser Comprehensive in Treatment of 210 patients with the great saphenous vein varices
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy, 2011Co-Authors: Jingkui Yang, Wei Qiu, Xuesong Hou, Yujie LiuAbstract:Objective To explore the clinical effect of the small incision with laser Comprehensive Treatment for patients with the great saphenous vein varices. Methods Small incision surgical ligation was done at the top and end of the great saphenous vein. Then took out the whole part or subsection of the great saphenous vein, with laser to treat the main part of the great saphenous vein and varicose vein group. Results 210 cases of 230 limbs all cured, cure rate was 100%. Conclusion The small incision with laser Comprehensive Treatment was an effective method for the great saphenous vein varices. It was worthy of clinical application and dissemination. Key words: Varicose veins; Laser coagulation
