  • total quality management in the Construction Process
International Journal of Project Management, 1997
Co-Authors: David Arditi, Murat H Gunaydin
    Abstract:

Abstract There is great potential for quality improvement in the Construction Process. A study of the literature and of surveys conducted in the USA indicated that management commitment to quality and to continuous quality improvement is very important; Construction industry professionals are well aware of the importance of quality training; partnering agreements among the parties in the Construction Process constitute an important step in securing a high quality product; a feedback loop could upgrade the original quality standards used in the industry; the clarity of project scope and requirements as well as of drawings and specifications is a prerequisite for high Process quality.

  • Visualized Construction Process on virtual reality
Proceedings Fifth International Conference on Information Visualisation, 2001
Co-Authors: W.s. Kim, Hyoung Chul Lim, Okkyue Kim, Yoon-ki Choi, Ilyun-Soo Lee
    Abstract:

The proposed Construction Process visualization system (4D-VR, 4 Dimension Virtual Reality) is applied to a large and complicated project that requires milestone schedule management and detailed activity control. The 4D-VR has a software structure with five modules, which are 3D CAD modeling, virtual reality modeling, schedule data Processing, linking graphic data with schedule data, and visualization output modules. A field application has been carried out on 4D-VR for a 27-story complex building project for an apartment and commercial store in Korea. After analyzing the case, we conclude that the 4D-VR system can enhance communication between managers and workers, and help a project manager to reasonable decision making for establishing the schedule. Moreover, 4D-VR is effective for shortening the schedule, showing the exact Construction Process and making various presentations to co-workers related to the project. This paper shows the status of 4D-VR technology in Korea and how to use it in a real project

  • students types of argumentative knowledge Construction Process in social collaborative learning environment
2017 International Conference on Learning and Teaching in Computing and Engineering (LaTICE), 2017
Co-Authors: Siti Nur Khadijah Aishah Ibrahim, Jamalludin Harun
    Abstract:

With the rapid expansion of computer usage technology, working in social collaborative learning environment has been a common teaching and learning techniques to students. Working collaboratively can trigger deeper discussion which may lead into an argumentative debate and the development of knowledge Construction in argumentation. This Process is known as argumentative knowledge Construction and essentially beneficial in understanding the level of students' thinking skills. However, experiencing the Process is important before thinking skills can be related to it. In this study, we combine model of online discussion, argumentative knowledge Construction Process and 3A interaction model to see the types of argumentative knowledge Construction Process occur in the students' discussion in a social collaborative learning environment. Data are collected from Facebook group discussion and analyzed using content analysis technique. It is hoped that this model can illustrate a pathway to instructor on how to facilitate students' argumentative knowledge Construction Process especially in social collaborative learning environment and indirectly lead students' thinking skills towards the highest degree.
