    [ES] Los objetivos de la presente Tesis de Trabajo Final de Máster es en primer lugar conocer una pasarela de embarque de pasajeros en profundidad, para posteriormente analizar y comparar la metodología de su mantenimiento, observar puntos débiles y presentar mejoras encaminadas en este sentido.     Post-approval changes are inevitable and necessary throughout the life of a drug product—to implement new knowledge, maintain a state of control, and drive Continual Improvement. Many of these post-approval changes require regulatory agency approval by individual countries before implementation. Because of the global regulatory complexity, individual post-approval changes usually take years for full worldwide approval even when they reduce patient risk, improve compliance, or enhance the manufacturing process or test methods. This global complexity slows down Continual Improvement and innovation and can cause drug shortages and current good manufacturing practices compliance issues. Manufacturers that market products globally experience the greatest challenge and risks in their daily operations because of this post-approval change complexity. A global problem needs a global solution. Quality leaders speaking globally with “One Voice of Quality” are essential for solving this difficult problem. This concept paper has been developed under the sponsorship of a group of Chief Quality Officers (Heads of Quality) from >25 global pharmaceutical companies and has been endorsed by the Parenteral Drug Association. The intent of this concept paper is to develop and implement aligned, standard solutions within the industry, leveraging the core foundation of the pharmaceutical quality system, such that a transformational shift can be achieved with faster implementation of new knowledge, Continual Improvement, and innovation through post-approval changes. LAY ABSTRACT: Pharmaceutical manufacturers must make changes to their products and manufacturing processes over time as they incorporate new technology and new information. Because drug products are highly regulated in every country, the manufacturer must often contact national drug regulators before making these changes, even if the manufacturer is confident, based on testing and process controls, that the change will not have a negative impact on product quality or patient safety. For a product that is globally marketed, the manufacturer may have to contact dozens of regulators before making a change. This paper suggests that industry work together to identify ways to demonstrate to regulators that product and process knowledge as well as pharmaceutical quality systems are strong enough that the manufacturers should be allowed to manage some post-approval changes themselves.

    There is impending shortage of metallurgical engineering fresh graduates, partly due to their exodus into more remunerative and rosy sectors. This paper attempts to highlight the problems and also offers conceptual solutions to abate them. One of the most potent solutions lies in the requisite motivation of students to get thickly absorbed in the TQM (total quality management) environment.This paper attempts to pose issues and map the framework for initiating corrective and preventive actions. In its vital failing the consequent shortage of metallurgical engineering graduates is all set to jeopardize the governmental plans for chasing metal production (as per planned requirements) in India. It is envisaged that the solution rests in Improvement of capatence (capacity + competence) and compettitude (competence + attitude) of both teacher and student, beginning right from the teacher. Continual Improvement in quality of teachers by improving pedagogical skills and attitude should be expeditiously harnessed in line with the voice of the customer.

    The Journey to Quality management is culture oriented, and requires intention, perfection and devotion. Say, an attitude to excellence is required. The mending of culture is subject to acceptance. It is difficult to orient, towards the new philosophy (as Deming clamours in his 14 points).This brief emphasises the importance of implementation of TQM through the perspective of various models. While their effectiveness is logistically poised, ultimately, the success of implementation will happen only when the constructs of the applied model match with the culture of implementing organisation and/or the people. Of the many strategies, the TQM aligned organisation can choose any one; but the road map is always charted through a strategic design of orienting people versus processes. People impact through Leadership, cross functional teams etc. managing what’s, and how’s – the basics to processes. How Continual Improvement is addressed is mapped in this paper. Models like GOAL/QPC, Toyota’s 4-P, Kanji’s and Thareja’s AUM model – as some of the tenets are sketched to let TQM drive in a systematic and regressive way.

    Abstract:

    Continual Improvement is a key component of ISO 14001, but in contrast to most other specifications in the standard, it is difficult to assess. Based on interviews with 19 certified companies in the chemical, food, and environmental services sectors, this article explores the dynamics of Continual Improvement. While most auditing practices focus on the operational level of Improvement, the system level is more important in realizing Continual Improvement. Taking Continual Improvement as an explicit principle, defining long-term objectives, and widening the scope of environmental policy objectives can be used as indicators for system level Improvement. Front-runners in Continual Improvement tend to use more management indicators and think more favourably on benchmarking. They are relatively stronger motivated by internal policy ambitions, and parent company aims than by pressures from outside. Further elaboration of performance frameworks for Continual Improvement is needed, taking into account the way performance indicators can stimulate internal motivational, and policy processes.

    Purpose – This paper aims to describe the steps in attaining the ISO 9001:2000 quality management system certification at the University of Malaya Library.Design/methodology/approach – This article includes description of the planning, implementation and maintenance of the quality management system by the library, along with Continual Improvement efforts to provide quality service to the library clientele.Findings – Finds that the move towards a quality management system within quality standard requirements, such as the MS ISO 9001:2000 proved challenging to obtaining the management commitment and the reorganization of services. Customer feedback becomes the focus of on‐going planning to fulfill customer requirements. A quality management system has brought about informed decision making and increased customer satisfaction.Research limitations/implications – The study is limited to only four university libraries, thus generalization to Malaysian academic libraries is premature at this stage.Practical impl...
