A methodology for Design Basis information discovery within Design reconstitution programs in the nuclear industry
IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, 1993Co-Authors: J.m. HilditchAbstract:There are many Design Basis reconstitution programs in existence today, each guided by a locally generated Design Basis document writer's guide. These guides usually provide the Design Basis document (DBD) writer with very precise instructions on how the information is to be presented and formatted. The guides also provide the writer with an outline of what Design information needs to be included in the DBD. However, very little instruction is given on where or how to gather the required Design information that is needed to write a system DBD. The purpose of this paper is to present a methodology for efficient retrieval of existing Design information necessary for developing a system DBD. >

Hydraulics Load Analyses of Design Basis Accident for Qinshan Phase II NPP Project
Nuclear Power Engineering, 2003Co-Authors: Huang Dai-shunAbstract:Design Basis accident hydraulics load analyses, which are the Basis of system and device dynamics analyses of nuclear power station, are very important and necessary for the Design of device and system of nuclear power plant project. It is the first time that hydraulic load analyses are carried out completely the Design of Qinshan Phase Ⅱ NPP Project. This paper summarizes the Design Basis accident hydraulics load analyses in terms of the break model, computer codes and analysis methods for Qinshan Phase Ⅱ NPP Project Design.

Upwind Design Basis (WP4: offshore foundations and support structures)
2010Co-Authors: Tim Fischer, W.e. De Vries, B. SchmidtAbstract:The presented Design Basis gives a summarized overview of relevant Design properties for a later offshore wind turbine Design procedures within work package 4. The described offshore site is located in the Dutch North Sea and has a water depth of 21m. Therefore it will be chosen as shallow site within the work package for further Design studies. Besides information about climate properties like wind and wave definitions, other load properties are specified according to a current Design guideline. Here the guideline of the Germanischer Lloyd and IEC is chosen. Finally the relevant Design load cases according to the guideline are listed, which have to be fulfilled for a suitable support structure Design.
