Information & Software Technology, 2002Co-Authors: Tarja Systa, Kai Koskimies, Erkki MakinenAbstract:Abstract In object-oriented design, behavioral modeling aims at describing the behavior of objects using state machines. State machines can also be used in dynamic reverse engineering to capture the overall run-time behavior of the objects of interest. The unified modeling language (UML) statechart Diagram Notation provides powerful means to structure state machines, thus avoiding the plague of combinatorial explosion. Tool support for constructing statechart Diagrams automatically from example scenarios is currently available. These tools are applicable in both forward and reverse engineering. For complicated objects, the statechart Diagrams tend to be large, which makes them difficult to visualize and understand. In this paper, we discuss information preserving means to transform flat statechart Diagrams into a more compact form. These algorithms can be applied to both manually constructed and automatically generated Diagrams. The proposed technique is integrated with a UML-based software design environment TED.

We focus in this paper on how to model and compose interactively workflow applications from Grid services without considering lower level description of the Grid environment. To reach this objective, we propose a Model-Driven Approach for developing such applications based on semantic and syntactic descriptions of services available on the Grid and abstract description provided by UML activity Diagram language as well. As there are particular needs for modeling composed workflows interactively from Grid services, we propose to extend the UML activity Diagram Notation. These extensions deal with additional information allowing an interactive and semi automatic composition of workflows. In addition this specific domain language contains appropriate data to describe matched Grid services that are useful for the execution of the obtained workflows.

Reusing best practices that others have employed could have a number of benefits, such as decreasing the time spent in the requirements elicitation process or improving the quality of the product by reducing product failure risk. Pattern selection can be difficult due to the diversity of applicable patterns from which an analyst has to choose. The challenge is that identifying the most appropriate pattern for a situation can be cumbersome and time-consuming. We propose a new method that combines an inquiry-cycle based approach with the feature Diagram Notation to review only relevant patterns and quickly select the most appropriate patterns for the situation. Similar to patterns themselves, our approach captures expert knowledge to relate patterns based on decisions made by the pattern user. The resulting pattern hierarchies allow users to be guided through these decisions by questions, which introduce related patterns in order to help the pattern user select the most appropriate patterns for their situation, thus resulting in better requirement generation. We evaluate our approach using access control patterns in a pattern user study.

Theoretical section of this work covers manufacturing standards of the electrical cabinets, options for the single-purpose machine control with focus on the programmable logic controller e.g. PLC, PLC control program concept with definition of the main alarm states and description of two types of electrical cabinet. Practical part contains description of the electrical cabinet, its block Diagram, photo documentation of the wiring (chapter 4.), chosen PLC type, its advantages and detail program description using Ladder Diagram Notation, communication with operator realized with touch LCD panel, programming environment for this LCD panel and program realization process. Finalized machine description and its photo documentation in manufacturing process is covered in the end. This diploma thesis is based and extends previously successfully defended semester project

Teoretická část práce se zabývá standardy výroby elektrických rozváděčů, možnostmi řízení jednoúčelových strojů s důrazem na řízení pomocí programovatelného logického automatu tzv. PLC a je završena návrhem koncepce programu pro PLC, definicí možných poruchových stavů a popisem dvou typů rozváděčové skříně. Praktická část popisuje blokové schéma zapojení rozváděče, jakožto prvku sloužícího k řízení celého stroje, s fotodokumentací jeho zapojení, zvolený programovatelný automat, jeho přednosti a popis tvorby programu pro tento prvek řízení využitím tzv. Ladder Diagramu, návrh a popis systému komunikace s operátorem pomocí dotykového LCD panelu, programovací prostředí pro tento LCD panel a postup vytváření programu. Finální stroj, jeho umístění ve výrobě je popsán v závěru práce. the itensor software library for tensor network calculations
arXiv: Mathematical Software, 2020Co-Authors: Matthew P Fishman, Steven R White, Miles E StoudenmireAbstract:ITensor is a system for programming tensor network calculations with an interface modeled on tensor Diagram Notation, which allows users to focus on the connectivity of a tensor network without manually bookkeeping tensor indices. The ITensor interface rules out common programming errors and enables rapid prototyping of tensor network algorithms. After discussing the philosophy behind the ITensor approach, we show examples of each part of the interface including Index objects, the ITensor product operator, tensor factorizations, tensor storage types, algorithms for matrix product state (MPS) and matrix product operator (MPO) tensor networks, quantum number conserving block-sparse tensors, and the NDTensors library. We also review publications that have used ITensor for quantum many-body physics and for other areas where tensor networks are increasingly applied. To conclude we discuss promising features and optimizations to be added in the future.
