The thiol groups present in the Diastase are mainly responsible for the rapid reaction rate of silver nanoparticles synthesis. The variation in the size and morphology of AgNPs were studied by changing the pH of Diastase. The prepared silver nanoparticles were characterized by using UV-vis, XRD, FTIR, TEM and SAED. The FTIR analysis revealed the stabilization of Diastase molecules on the surface of AgNPs. Additionally, in-vitro cytotoxicity experiments concluded that the cytotoxicity of the as-synthesized AgNPs towards mouse fibroblast (3T3) cell lines is dose and size dependent. Furthermore, the present method is an alternative to the traditional chemical methods of size controlled AgNPs synthesis.

During the synthetic process, Diastase acts concurrently as both a reducing and stabilizing agent, while no additional chemical reagents or surfactants are added. The formation of AuNPs was confirmed by using a UV-visible spectrophotometer, with a characteristic surface plasmon resonance (SPR) band at 530 nm. The size of the Diastase-stabilized AuNPs can be easily controlled by changing the quantity of Diastase. The produced AuNPs were characterized by using powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-visible spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The FTIR spectrum revealed the capping of Diastase on the surface of AuNPs. Furthermore, the formed gold nanoparticles are stable for more than three months. In vitro cytotoxicity studies by MTT assay on HCT116 and A549 cancer cells showed that the cytotoxicity of the as-synthesized Au nanocolloids depends on their size and dose.

E. und fur das Pferd 59,6 S. E. 3 In samtlichen Proben war eine saure Phosphatase wirksam; ihre Aktivitat belief sich beim Rind auf durchschnittlich 0,29 GE, bei Pferden auf 0,34 GE. 4 Der Nachweis einer alkalischen Phosphatase gelang nicht in allen Fallen. 5 Es werden die Lipase-Konstanten einer Tributyrinase, die regelmasig im Liquor von Rindern und Pferden vorkommt, angegeben. 6 Die Aktivitat genannter Enzyme ist unter Berucksichtigung der Relation Liquor-: Serumeiweiskonzentration im Liquor beachtlich hoch. 7 Das Verhaltnis der Aktivitaten der erwahnten Fermente zueinander ist im Liquor wesentlich anders geartet als im Serum. Die Diastaseaktivitat liegt wesentlich hoher als beim Menschen (Mittelwert [MW] 254,1 Somogyi E.); die der Lipase — trotz der „physiologischen” Fettsucht dieser Tierart — erheblich niedriger (MW Lipase-Konstante 0,0016); die durchschnittlichen Werte der alkalischen Phosphatase (MW 9,9 King-Armstrong E.) entsprechen den Verhaltnissen beim Menschen, wahrend die der sauren Phosphatase im allgemeinen geringfugig hoher liegen (MW 4,45 Gutman E.).
