Pooled data from four 6- or 8-wk placebo-controlled quetiapine XR (50-300 mg/d) monotherapy studies (D1448C00001; D1448C00002; D1448C00003; D1448C00004) were analysed. Primary efficacy end-point was change from randomization in Montgomery Asberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS) score. Post hoc analyses of secondary end-points were conducted for change from randomization in: MADRS item 4 (reduced sleep); Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression (HAMD) items 4 (insomnia-early), 5 (insomnia-middle), 6 (insomnia-late) and sleep Disturbance Factor (items 4 + 5+6) scores; Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) global scores. MADRS total score change was also evaluated in patients experiencing high and low baseline sleep Disturbance (HAMD sleep Disturbance Factor scores ⩾4 and < 4, respectively). In total, 1808 patients were randomized to quetiapine XR or placebo across four studies. At last assessment, quetiapine XR reduced MADRS item 4, HAMD items 4, 5 and 6, HAMD sleep Disturbance Factor score and PSQI global scores from baseline vs. placebo (p < 0.001). For those experiencing high sleep Disturbance (n = 865, quetiapine XR; n = 514, placebo), quetiapine XR improved MADRS total score vs. placebo at all visits (p < 0.001). For those with low sleep Disturbance (n = 252, quetiapine XR; n = 121, placebo), quetiapine XR improved MADRS total score vs. placebo at weeks 2 (p < 0.001), 4 and 6 (both p < 0.05). In conclusion, quetiapine XR (50-300 mg/d) monotherapy improved symptoms of sleep Disturbance vs. placebo in patients with MDD, including those with either high or low baseline sleep Disturbance levels.

Meso analysis for rationality of disturbed state concept theory considering special area of specimens

Meso analysis for rationality of disturbed state concept theory on utilization of hardening model for softening response depiction

DSC permits obtaining softening response by using hardening model. In meso analysis, the comparison between softening clay and hardening clay, through antitheses of experimental results under shear loading in macro vision along with synchronous outcomes of computerized tomography real-time test in micro vision, and the relationship between clay hardening or softening and their corresponding CT value changing, explains the logical rationality of disturbed state concept theory problem analyzing and solving. The rationality lies in the correspondence of CT value changing to whether or not superpose the Disturbance Factor D according to hardening or softening. A new Disturbance Factor evolution function is put forward. In the evolution function the mean of CT value variance of each scanning stratum is the independent variable. Examples show effectiveness of the evolution function.

APPLICATION OF DISTURBED STATE CONCEPT TO ISSUES IN GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING
Chinese journal of rock mechanics and engineering, 2006Co-Authors: Sun HongAbstract:The triaxial compressive response depiction method of rocks and anisotropy response depiction method of soils are proposed based on the disturbed state concept(DSC).DSC defines the response of material that is subjected to loading is a weighted average value of two reference response states.The actual response is composed of relative intact state response and fully adjusted state response with a Disturbance Factor as the weighted Factor.DSC presents an average course,but the reference state responses are not displayed deteriorating course.On the triaxial compressive response depiction method of rock,DSC gives qualified fitness of stress-strain softening phase of red sandstone under regular triaxial compressive test.Steady entire phase of the stress-strain curve shows the ability of RMT–150B rock experiment instrument.Stress-strain relationship curve is described after the compact point.Disturbance Factor parameters change with confining pressure value.On the anisotropy response depiction method of soil,anisotropic Disturbance Factor is superposed to isotropic results obtained from hierarchical single surface(HISS) model utility to show stress anisotropic characteristics of the material.The orientation of Disturbance Factor vector is the same as that of vector of material unit stress.The finite element method process of stress anisotropic DSC based on HISS model is presented,including detailed steps of loading and unloading certificationi,nitial value confirmation and hardening floating rectification.Two examples prove the effectiveness of the introduced methods.

This study investigated the construct validity of the Personality Structure Questionnaire (PSQ) in Italian clinical (N=237) and community ( N=296) samples . Confirmatory Factor analysis was conducted to investigate the internal structure of the PSQ. A three – Factor structure (i.e., differing self - states, mood variability and behavioral loss of control) including a second - order Factor provided the best fit to the data . This structure was demonstrated to be invariant across sex and clinical diagnosis , with clinical diagnosis significantly predicting increased PSQ scores . A g lobal PSQ score of between 26 - 28 was found to be an appropriate cut-off for assisting in diagnostic processes. Implications for the assessment and treatment of psychological disorders with a marked identity Disturbance component are discussed.

Nonnative invasive species are overlooked in biological integrity assessments

However, not all the components of biological integrity have been equally addressed, since most of MMIs do not consider nonnative species, which are a great threat to ecosystems integrity. We performed a systematic review of how nonnative species have been considered in MMIs to assess biological conditions worldwide. Using a systematic review of the literature we identified to what extent nonnative species have been included as a Disturbance Factor for determining reference conditions and if specific metrics related to both nonnative and native species have been taken into account in the MMIs around the world. We also identified the most frequent species origin metrics that have been included in the MMIs. We searched for articles published in English up to 2016 that applied or developed an MMI in the Web of Science database (Clarivate Analytics). Following the PRISMA guidelines, we analyzed 409 articles. We found that only 1.2% of the studies used nonnative species as a Disturbance Factor in determining reference conditions. About 66% of articles did not test or did not provide the information if they tested metrics on native or nonnative species. Most of the articles (53%) that tested native or nonnative metrics were fish-based MMIs. We found 97 different metrics, of which 69% were related to native species, whereas 31% were related to nonnative ones. Native richness was the most used metric in studies that considered species origin (23.5%). Our main results evidence that nonnative species are overlooked in biomonitoring programs. Owing to the well-known impacts of them on ecosystem integrity, their inclusion in definition of reference conditions and in MMIs metrics should be considered as bioassessment criteria.

modified pso algorithm for solving planar graph coloring problem

Presently there is no effective method to solve this problem. Here we propose a modified particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm in which a Disturbance Factor is added to a particle swarm optimizer for improving its performance. When the current global best solution cannot be updated in a certain time period that is longer than the Disturbance Factor, a certain number of particles will be chosen according to probability and their velocities will be reset to force the particle swarm to get rid of local minimizers. It is found that this operation is helpful to improve the performance of particle swarm. Classic planar graph coloring problem is resolved by using modified particle swarm optimization algorithm. Numerical simulation results show that the performance of the modified PSO is superior to that of the classical PSO.
