Hi-Stat Career Crisis? The Impacts of Financial Shock on Entry-Level Labour Market: Experimental Evidences from Thailand in 1997 A 21st-Century COE Program Career Crisis? The Impacts of Financial Shock on Entry-Level Labour Market: Experimental Evidences
2020Co-Authors: Tomohiro MachikitaAbstract:Abstract Identifying the conditions of entry-level labour market on employment and wages is difficult because there is non-separability of match qualities from firm specific demand shock at the period of transition from school to work. We utilize Thailand's financial crisis in 1997 as a natural experiment which exogenously shifts labour demand temporally. This model provides three testable hypotheses: (1) entry-level labour market tightens after crisis; (2) disadvantage of newly entrants at the period after crisis decreases overtime; (3) senior or highly Educated Worker's job and wages are secured. Convincing evidences from Thailand Labor Force Survey support our empirical predictions

the Educated Worker an empirical investigation of expectations of leadership
Journal of Leadership Accountability and Ethics, 2012Co-Authors: Mark T Green, Phyllis Duncan, Charles Salter, Esther ChavezAbstract:Meta-analytic studies have found that men and women are different in areas such as how they approach morality, forgiveness and leadership. Similarly, meta-analyses have found that increased education is related to increased self-esteem, job attitudes and social capital. In this study, 577 working adults from the state of Texas completed the Project Globe Leadership Questionnaire. This study found that both gender and education were related to the intensity with which participants believed particular leadership characteristics contributed to and inhibited outstanding leadership. Formal education was related to stronger ratings of the importance of leadership behaviors.
