    Abstract:

    The Growth and Yield of Chili Peppers (Capsicum annuum L) on Andisol Using Various Organic Fertilizers and EndomycorrhizaeABSTRACT. This research aims to understand the effects of various organic fertilizers and endomychorrizae on the growth and yield of chili peppers on Andisol. This research uses a Randomized Block Design (RBD) of a 4 x 4 factorial design with three repetitions. The tested factors were: Organic Fertilizers, consisting of four levels, namely: O0: Without organic fertilizers, O1: Cow manure fertilizer, O2: Chicken manure fertilizer and O3: guano fertilizer, and Endomycorrhizae, consisting of four levels, namely: M0: Without Endomycorrhizae, M1: Gigaspora fungi, M2: Glomus fungi, and M3: mixture of Gigaspora and Glomus fungi. This research was conducted at the Green House of Service Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) of the Saree Horticulture Seed Center, LembahSeulawah District, Aceh Besar Regency, as well as the laboratories of Soil Science and Plant Pathology of the Faculty of Agriculture of Syiah Kuala University. The study was conducted from May to December 2013. The type of organic fertilizers used on the chili peppers affected their growth and yield. Chicken manure fertilizer improved their growth and yield better compared to those derived from cow manure and guano. The use of Endomycorrhizae also affected the growth and yield of the chili peppers on Andisol. There were no differences between the two types of Endomycorrhizae in regards to the growth or yield of the chili peppers

    Abstract:

    Six Cistaceae species, Helianthemum ledifolium , Helianthemum lippii , Fumana procumbens , Cistus albidus , Cistus incanus , Cistus salvifolius , and Pinus halepensis (Aleppo pine) were inoculated with three mycorrhizal desert truffles, Terfezia leptoderma , Terfezia boudieri , and Terfezia claveryi under greenhouse conditions, on soil originating from desert truffle natural habitat in Algeria. The syntheses have led to the formation of typical Endomycorrhizae in annual Cistaceae ( H. ledifolium ) and perennial ones ( H. lippii and F. procumbens ) and an ectomycorrhiza with a less developed sheath in Cistus species and Aleppo pine. These results demonstrate the plasticity of Terfezia species to form different mycorrhizal types. The formation of an endomycorrhiza with H. ledifolium and F. procumbens and a sheathing ectomycorrhiza with P. halepensis inoculated by T. leptoderma in in vivo culture conditions was obtained for the first time.

    Abstract:

    ABSTRACT The objective of the present work is to study the effect of Trichoderma harzianum and the composite endomycorrhizal inoculums (Myc) on the suppression of the Fusarium wilt of date palm (Phoenix dactylifera) caused by Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. albedinis. Plants of two date palm varieties, Majhoul (M) and Boufeggous (B), inoculated with Trichoderma harzianum (Tc), a endomycorrhizal inoculums (Myc) or both, are infected with a pathogenic isolate of Fusaium oxysporum f.sp. albedinis (FA 5). Results have shown that the treatments of Trichoderma harzianum and with Endomycorrhizae have decreased the effect of Fusarium wilt on two varieties of date palm « Majhoul » and « Boufegouss », with the reduction of the dwarfing index (DI), Tc (M :4.01% /84% ; B :3 .98% /75%), Myc (M : 3.55% /84% ; B : 2.5% /75%). . Fresh weight of the aerial and root parts of these two varieties were respectively (M : 6g ; B : 4g) and (M : 3g ; B : 4g ) relative to the control plants (M :11 g ; B : 9 g) and (M :12 g; B :10 g). The inoculation of the date palm plants with Tc and with Endomycorrhizae or with both seems influence the penetration, installation and the migration of F. oxysporum f. sp. albedinis of the roots into the superior levels of the vegetative part of the date palm. For the plants inoculated only with F. oxysporum, the pathogenic agent was re-isolated from the superior level, respectively 70 à 80% for the plants of the varieties Boufegouss and Majhoul. The pathogenic agent is present in the roots of the plants of two varieties, Majhoul and Boufeggous, respectively (M: 4% ; B : 5%) inoculated with Endomycorrhizae or with Tc (B :7%). By cons, the reisolation of F. oxysporum f. sp. albedinis was negative from the plants of two varieties inoculated at the same time with AMF and Tc. The application of Endomycorrhizae and with Tc has promoted the installation of Endomycorrhizae, thus the mycorrhizal intensity (M.I.) was respectively 20% and 30% for the varieties Boufegouss and Majhoul. Moreover, spores number of Endomycorrhizae isolated from the rhizosphere of the varieties Boufegouss and Majhoul was respectively 80 and 240 relative to the control that showed no endomycorrhizal structure in its roots and no endomycorrhizal spores in its rhizosphere. In this study, it seems that the inoculation of the palm plants with Trichoderma harzianum and with endomycorhizae or with both, after their inoculation with Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. albedinis protects the roots of the plants against Fusarium wilt.     Abstract:

    The dual inoculation with Endomycorrhizae and Trich oderma harzianum had a significant effect on the growth of date palm plants. In fact, the average va lues of aerial fresh weight (38.99g), number of lea ves (6.7), the plant length (38cm), and the stem diamet er (1.2 cm) of the plant inoculated with AMF and Trichoderma harzianum, were higher than those inocu lated only with AMF, respectively, 32g, 5.2 , 38 cm et 1.2cm. or just with Trichoderma harzianum 30g, 3 .75, 46cm et 0.8cm. by contrast, the mycorrhizal intensity of roots inoculated only with AMF (82%) w as higher than that of plants inoculated with AMF and T. harzianum (60%). thus it seems that T. harzi anum reduced root colonization by mycorrhizal fungi . Otherwise, 25 endomycorrhizal species were isolated in the rhizosphere of the inoculated plant after n ine months of inoculation. These species belong to the genera Glomus (55%), Acaolospora (22%), Scutellospora (12%), Entrophospora (5%) and Gigaspo ra(2%).
