Mycoses, 2009Co-Authors: Z Jesenska, A Bojanovska, Herrn Professor Dr L ChmelAbstract:Zusammenfassung Die Autoren haben die Aktivitat der Proteinasen von den ersten Subkulturen von 64 Stammen Trichophyton mentagrophytes gepruft; davon wurden 23 Stamme nach alter Nomenklatur zum Epidermophyton interdigitale und 41 Stamme zum Trichophyton gypseum eingeordnet. Die Versuche haben eine Abhangigkeit dieser Enzyme vom pH im Bereich 6–8 und von der Inkubationsdauer ausgeschlossen. Beim Vergleich der Werte ist kein signifikanter Unterschied in der Aktivitat der Proteinasen gelungen zwischen der Gruppe der Stamme von Epidermophyton interdigitale und der Gruppe der Stamme von Trichophyton gypseum. Die Ergebnisse haben weder mit dem klinischen Bild noch mit dem Verlauf der Erkrankung korreliert. Summary A study was made of the proteinase acitvity of the first subcultures of 64 strains of Trichophyton mentagrophytes. According to the old nomenclature 23 strains were Epidermophyton interdigitale, 41 Trichophyton gypseum. The experiments eliminated a relationship between these enzymes, the pH between 6 and 8 and the duration of incubation. On comparison of the values a significant difference was observed in the activity of the proteinases of the Epidermophyton interdigitale and Trichophyton gypseum strains. The results showed no correlation with either the clinical picture or the course of the disease.

TripathiAbstract:Summary: The essential oil of fruits of Trachyspermum ammi exhibited fungitoxicity against Epidermophyton floccosum Microsporum canis and Trichophyton mentagrophytes at 900 ppm concentration. The fungitoxicity of the oil was not affected by temperature treatment up to 150°C, autoclaving and storage up to 240 days. On chemical investigation, thymol was isolated as fungitoxic factor and it exhibited toxicity against the test fungi at 1000 ppm concentration. Zusammenfassung: Das atherische Ol der Fruchte von Trachyspermum ammi zeigte fungitoxische Wirkung gegen Epidermophyton floccosum, Microsporum canis und Trichophyton mentagrophytes bei einer Konzentration von 900 ppm. Temperaturen bis 150°C, Autoklavieren und Lagerung uber 240 Tage beeinflusten die Fungitoxizitat des Oles nicht Bei chemischen Untersuchungen wurde Thymol als fungitoxischer Faktor isoliert, das die Testpilze bei einer Konzentration von 1000 ppm hemmte.

Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, 2011Co-Authors: Alfonso Javier Carrillomunoz, C Turtur, Delia Cardenes, Dolors Estivill, Gustavo GiusianoAbstract:The fungistatic and fungicidal activities of sertaconazole against dermatophytes were evaluated by testing 150 clinical isolates of causative agents of tinea pedis, Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, and Epidermophyton floccosum. The overall geometric means for fungistatic and fungicidal activities of sertaconazole against these isolates were 0.26 and 2.26 g/ml, respectively, although values were higher for T. mentagrophytes than for the others. This is the first comprehensive demonstration of the fungicidal activity of sertaconazole against dermatophytes.
