Chinese Herbal Medicine with External Application for Cancer Pain: A Systematic Review
Liaoning Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine, 2014Co-Authors: Wang FangyuaAbstract:Objective: To conduct a systematic review of the Chinese herbal medicine with External Application for cancer pain.Methods: A systematic search with reference tracing was conducted that uses Chinese herbal medicine,cancer pain,External Application as the keywords,in databases of Pubmed database,Cochrane Library,MEDLINE,EMBASE,CBM database,Wanfang database,VIP database and CNKI database in Chinese and in English from 1 /1991 to 10 /2013 to determine possible eligible articles.We screened External use Chinese herbal medicine for cancer pain randomized controlled trials,then performed systematic reviews according to the Cochrane Handbook provides quality assessment of the literature. Results: Nine RCTs were included and they all missed the allocation concealment and follow- up reports. Because of the shortcomings blinding,small sample size,unknown specific medicine prescription coverage,missing medicine quality control,the low clinical relevance,all the trials were evaluated as high risk of bias. Conclusion: Due to the insufficient evidence based medicine of Chinese herbal medicine with External Application for cancer pain,there is need for strict designed and high quality RCTs.

Experimental Study Progress of Chinese Herbal in External Application for Cancer Pain

Methods: Using External Application,Chinese herb,cancer pain as key words,we searched the relevant experimental literature of CNKI database,Wanfang data resource system,VIP database,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database( SinoMed),Pubmed and Ovid database published in 1/1991—10/2013. Results: There were 12 articles including in the study which showed certain effectiveness in Chinese herbal treating with cancer pain. But there were still many problems existing in experimental designing,modeling method,drug quality control,etc. Conclusion: Chinese medicine External treatment cancer pain experiment research should choose appropriate modeling method,drug mechanisms and administration,drug quality control and safety evaluation to strengthen the guidance of clinical treatment.

Treatment on chronic prostatitis with External Application of herbal medicine
The Chinese Journal of Human Sexuality, 2011Co-Authors: Xun JianningAbstract:Objectives:To observe the effect of External Application of herbal medicine in the treatment of chronic prostatitis.Methods:Two hundred and thirteen patients with chronic prostatitis were randomly divided into treatment and control group.Treatment group was administered with External Application of herbal medicine,while the control group was treated with Qianlieanshuan.The treatment lasts for one period of 30 days.Results:After one treatment period,the treatment group showed significantly better results than the control group in overall therapeutic efficacy,NIH-CPSI scoring and traditional Chinese medicine symptom scoring.Conclusion:External Application of herbal medicine has satisfactory treatment effects on chronic prostatitis.

Clinical Observations on Treatment of Chronic Eczema by Tapping with A Plum-Blossom Needle plus External Application of Prednisolone
Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, 2008Co-Authors: Liang Dong-fAbstract:Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of tapping with a plum-blossom needle plus External Application of prednisolone in treating chronic eczema.Methods Sixty-five patients were randomly allocated, in order of visit, to two groups. The treatment group (tapping with a plum-blossom needle plus External Application of prednisolone) was compared with the control group (local injection of prednisone acetate plus lidocaine).Results The cure rate and the total efficacy rate were significantly higher in the treatment group than in the control group (P0.05).Conclusion The results indicate that the effect of tapping with a plum-blossom needle plus External Application of prednisolone is superior to that of local prednisone acetate injection in treating chronic eczema.
