A case with Fallopian Tube Prolapse was managed by a combined vaginal and laparoscopic approach and description of the operative technique is presented. Case presentation A 39-year-old woman with vaginal Prolapse of the Fallopian Tube after total abdominal hysterectomy presented with an incorrect diagnosis of adenocarcinoma of the vaginal apex. The Prolapsed Tube and cystic ovary were removed by vaginal and laparoscopic approach. The postoperative course went well. Conclusions Early or late Fallopian Tube Prolapse can occur after total abdominal hysterectomy and vaginal hysterectomy. Symptoms consist of persistent blood loss or leukorrhea, dyspareunia and chronic pelvic pain. Vaginal removal of Prolapsed Tube with laparoscopic surgery may be a suitable treatment. The abdominal or vaginal approach used in surgical correction of Prolapsed Tubes must be decided in each case according to the patient's individual characteristics.

Fallopian Tube Prolapse after total laparoscopic hysterectomy.

CASE: Fallopian Tube Prolapse was diagnosed in a patient 6 months after undergoing a total laparoscopic hysterectomy. The presenting symptoms were midline abdominal pain, abdominal distention, and dyspareunia. A laparoscopic approach showed a portion of Fallopian Tube Prolapsed through the vaginal cuff. CONCLUSION: This case suggests that Fallopian Tube Prolapse can occur up to 6 months after a total laparoscopic hysterectomy. Once detected, Fallopian Tube Prolapse can be managed using a laparoscopic approach in select patients.

Such pathology forms a diagnostic challenge, given the spectrum of cervical benign and malign lesions. The present case reports were aimed at revising the literature regarding the pertinent etiology, diagnosis and treatment. Materials and methods: three cases of Fallopian Tube Prolapse are presented, as well as a literature review involving a search of PubMed via Medline, Hinari, SciELO and EMBASE databases to compile relevant information published in both English and Spanish during the last 5 years. Conclusion: post-hysterectomy Fallopian Tube Prolapse, whether vaginal or abdominal, is a rare surgical complication. Definitive diagnosis is made by histopathological study when tubal tissue associated with inflammatory infiltrate has been shown. Different surgical techniques have been proposed for its treatment aimed at partially or totally removing the Prolapsed Tube and repairing the vaginal opening.

El presente reporte de casos tiene como objetivo revisar la literatura respecto a la etiologia, el diagnostico y el tratamiento de la entidad. Materiales y metodos: se presentan tres casos de prolapso de trompa uterina, asi como una revision de la literatura, a traves de una busqueda electronica en las bases de datos Medline via PubMed, Hinari, SciELO y EMBASE, para recopilar informacion publicada, tanto en ingles como en espanol, de los ultimos 5 anos.
