mechanism of deoxynivalenol effects on the reproductive system and Fetus Malformation current status and future challenges
Toxicology in Vitro, 2017Co-Authors: Miao Yu, Liangkai Chen, Zhao Peng, Andreas K Nussler, Qinghua Wu, Wei YangAbstract:Abstract Deoxynivalenol (DON) is a toxic fungal secondary metabolite produced by molds of the Fusarium genus, and it is known to cause a spectrum of diseases both in humans and animals, such as emesis, diarrhea, anorexia, immunotoxicity, hematological disorders, impairment of maternal reproduction, and fetal development. The recently revealed teratogenic potential of DON has received much attention. In various animal models, it has been shown that DON led to skeletal deformities of the Fetus. However, the underlying mechanisms are not yet fully understood, and toxicological data are also scarce. Several animal research studies highlight the potential link between morphological abnormalities and changes of autophagy in the reproductive system. Because autophagy is involved in fetal development, maintenance of placental function, and bone remodeling, this mechanism has become a high priority for future research. The general aim of the present review is to deliver a comprehensive overview of the current state of knowledge of DON-induced reproductive toxicity in different animal models and to provide some prospective ideas for further research. The focus of the current review is to summarize toxic and negative effects of DON exposure on the reproductive system and the potential underlying molecular mechanisms in various animal models.

preliminary application of ultrasound for detecting congenital Malformation of Fetus in second trimester pregnancy outcomes of 5428 cases
Acta Academiae Medicinae Wannan, 2011Co-Authors: Y E CaihongAbstract:Objective:To investigate the application value and effects of ultrasound in examination of fetal Malformation during second trimester of pregnancy. Methods: The clinical data were gathered from the clinic for antenatal diagnosis in the affiliated Yijishan Hospital of Wannan Medical College between Jul.2007 and Dec.2009 and the results were reviewed in 5 428 women(singleton pregnancy) undergone prenatal examination for Malformation during 20~28 weeks of pregnancy. Results:Of the total 5 428 cases,Fetus Malformation was found in 62(1.142%),in which 49 were abnormality of simple anatomical structure and 13 were complex. The follow-up revealed that 59 practiced termination of pregnancy, which was consistent with the ultrasonic findings. Conclusion:Antenatal ultrasound examination is of great importance to detect the fetal Malformation during the second trimester of pregnancy and is worthy of wider application in clinic.

to evaluate the value of systematic ultrasound examination in detecting Fetus Malformation
Chinese Journal of Birth Health & Heredity, 2011Co-Authors: Homg WeAbstract:Objeetive:To evaluate the value of systematic ultrasound examination in detecting Fetus Malformation. Methods:During 2000-2008,23955 Fetuses in the second and third trimesters underwent systematic ultrasound examination in our hospital to detect Malformations in head, chest, abdomen and skeleton.Scanning was performed with Sequoia512.Pathology examination were performed Fetuses with Malformation after terminations of pregnancy and were compared with diagnosis of systematic ultrasound examination.Results:228 Fetuses with Malformation were detected, among whom 119 were detected in 12-27 weeks′gestation and were conformed pathologically. Conclusions:Systematic ultrasound examination is helpful in detecting development disorders of Fetus in the second trimesters.
