Analysis of field oriented Control for permanent magnet hysteresis synchronous motors

RahmanAbstract:A microprocessor implementation of the Field-Oriented Control scheme for the permanent magnet (PM) hysteresis synchronous motor is reported. The basic principle is to decouple the torque-current component from the flux-current component so that these two components can be independently Controlled. A d-q axis model of the PM hysteresis synchronous motor is presented, and the Field-Oriented Control obtained from the basic machine model. A Control scheme that decouples the stator current components and orients it to the rotor frame is described. A scheme for detecting the rotor position is proposed. A software package based on the Intel 8086 microprocessor has been developed. A sine PWM voltage source inverter is used in the experimental work. The test results validate the theoretical steady state and dynamic performances of the laboratory prototype motor. >

RahmanAbstract:An analytical motor for a permanent magnet hysteresis hybrid synchronous motor has been developed. A microprocessor-based field oriented Control scheme has been successfully experimented for a laboratory magnet hysteresis motor. A scheme for measuring the torque angle is proposed. The test results confirm the improvement of the dynamic performances using a Field-Oriented Control strategy.

Control strategies, practical implementation, and performance of a current sensorless Field-Oriented Control for a synchronous reluctance motor are presented. A Field-Oriented Control scheme without current sensors which includes a voltage reference calculator which generates the required voltage references from the torque command and the motor speed is proposed. Excellent Control performance has been obtained, which indicates that current sensorless Field-Oriented Control of synchronous reluctance motors can be applicable in practical high-performance drive systems.

It has excellent transient and steady-state response and relative simple structure. This paper is concerned in study case of implementing FOC Control in realtime embedded system. The experimental results show that the FOC performs well in Controlling the torque and speed of the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with satisfactory result.

High performance Reluctance Synchronous Motor drive using Field Oriented Control

ShaltoutAbstract:This paper is presenting a study for the ability to improve the performance of Reluctance Synchronous Motors (RSM) using Field Oriented Control. For this purpose the three-phase RSM is modeled in a rotor (d-q) reference frame. The Field Oriented Control is then developed for Reluctance Synchronous Motor in a rotating (d-q) reference frame attached to rotor flux and applied to the machine model. The results obtained shows that the Field Oriented Control have proved to be a powerful Control strategy with the Reluctance Synchronous Motor, giving better performance and faster torque transient (i.e. less torque settling time). Field Oriented Control has also proved its ability to improve the motor stability and keeps its synchronism at high loading conditions.
