    Abstract:

    Masyarakat terutama di pesisir pantai Jepara banyak mengkonsumsi Caulerpa racemosa dan Gracillaria verrucosa sebagai sayuran, namun tidak banyak diketahui tentang profil komposisi kimia, serat dan makromineral. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui komposisi kimia, serat, dan makromineral pada Caulerpa racemosa dan Gracilaria verrucosa yang tumbuh di perairan Jepara. C. racemosa diambil dari perairan Jepara dan G. verrucosa diambil dari dua jenis tambak yaitu tambak bersubstrat lumpur (a) dan pasir (b). Hasil analisa menunjukkan bahwa  karbohidrat merupakan nutrisi yang dominan, diikuti kadar abu G. verrucosa dan protein pada C. racemossa . Jumlah mineral C. racemosa berturut-turut Na > Ca > K. Sedangkan pada G. verrucosa a jumlah mineral berturut-turut K >Na >Ca dan G. verrucosa b jumlah mineral berturut-turut Na >K >Ca. L-Threonine dan L-Glysine merupakan jumlah asam amino terbesar dalam rumput laut sedangkan L-asparagine tidak terdeteksi pada semua jenis rumput laut. Dilihat dari kandungan nutrisi dan mineral, kedua jenis rumput laut tersebut dapat dijadikan alternatif sebagai bahan  bahan pangan. Kata kunci : Caulerpa racemossa , g racilaria verrucosa , nutrisi, edible food Jepara community consume Caulerpa racemossa and Gracillaria verrucosa but there is no much information about their chemical composition, fiber, and macro-minerals. This research was aimed to knowing chemical composition, fiber and macro-mineral in C. racemossa and G. verrucosa which grow in Jepara water area. C. racemossa was taken from Jepara water and G. verrucosa was taken from mud substrat (a) dan sand substrat (b). Carbohidrate was the dominant compound in all seaweed, ash dominant compounds in G. verrucosa and protein dominant compound C. racemossa, repectivelly. Minerals content in C. racemosaare was Na > Ca > K, respectivelly. In addition, minerals content in G. verrucosa a are K >Na >Ca and G. verrucosa ( b) are Na >K >Ca, repectivelly. L-Threonine and L-Glysine were the dominant amino acids in all seaweeds, whereas L-asparagine was not detected in all seaweeds.     Abstract:

    F ood fibre could retard the absorption of glucose into blood. Gracilaria verrucosa seaweed  species contains high food fibre. The objective of the study was to investigate the effect of different doses of G. verrucosa extract fed on white rats (Rattus norvegicus) to the blood glucose after one and two hours feeding of extract. The results  indicated  that  the  different  G.  verrucosa  extract  doses  fed  on  white  rats  caused  highly  significant difference in the blood glucose contents from the blood samples of the treatments after one hour and two hours feeding time. The blood glucose contents were highly significant lower compared to the control. The highest dose was 4.5 g/kg body weight could reduce 53.65% of blood glucose content. The objective of the study was to investigate the effect of different doses of G. verrucosa extract fed on white rats (Rattus norvegicus) to the blood glucose after one and two hours feeding of extract. The results indicated that the different G. verrucosa extract doses fed on white rats caused highly significant difference in the blood glucose contents from the blood samples of the treatments after one hour and two hours feeding time.     Abstract:

    Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji pengaruh penggunaan tepung Rumput Laut fermentasi dalam ransum ayam broiler terhadap berat dan ukuran tulang femur, tibia dan tarsometatarsus. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan November – Desember 2013 di Kandang Unggas, Laboratorium Produksi Ternak Unggas, Fakultas Peternakan dan Pertanian Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah ayam broiler jantan dan betina sebanyak 150 ekor umur 7 hari dengan bobot 163,38 ± 24,67 g (CV=3,04). Bahan pakan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tepung Gracilaria verrucosa terfermentasi, bekatul, jagung kuning giling, tepung ikan, bungkil kedelai, PMM, minyak nabati, CaCO3, topmiks. Ransum disusun dengan kandungan protein 21 %, EM 3.000 kal/g. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan, setiap perlakuan diulangi sebanyak 6 kali, setiap unit percobaan terdiri dari 5 ekor ayam broiler. Ransum perlakuan yaitu sebagai berikut : T0 = ransum tanpa tepung rumput laut; T1 = ransum menggunakan tepung rumput laut 5%; T2 = ransum menggunakan tepung rumput laut fermentasi 5%; T3 = 7,5%; dan T4 = 10%. Parameter yang diamati meliputi: bobot hidup, berat, panjang dan lebar tulang femur, tibia dan tarsometatarsus ayam broiler. Data yang diperoleh diolah secara statistik dengan analisis ragam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berat, panjang dan lebar tulang femur, tibia dan tarsometatarsus serta berat hidup ayam broiler tidak mengalami perubahan yang signifikan (P>0,05) dengan pemberian ransum menggunakan tepung rumput laut terfermentasi dalam ransum hingga level 10%. Simpulan yang diperoleh yaitu penggunaan tepung rumput laut (Gracilaria verrucosa) fermentasi dalam ransum ayam broiler dapat diberikan sampai dengan level 10%.

    ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan tepung rumput laut ( G. verrucosa ) terfermentasi dalam ransum terhadap produksi karkas ayam broiler. Materi yang digunakan adalah 150 ekor ayam broiler jantan betina ( unsex ) umur 1 minggu dengan bobot rata-rata 163,38 ± 24,67 g (CV 3, 04 %). Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan sehingga terdapat 30 unit, setiap unit percobaan diisi 5 ekor ayam broiler. Perlakuan tersebut meliputi : T0= Ransum tanpa menggunakan tepung rumput laut terfermentasi, T1= ransum menggunakan 5% tepung rumput laut, T2= ransum menggunakan 5% tepung rumput laut terfermentasi, T3= ransum menggunakan 7,5% tepung rumput laut terfermentasi, T4= ransum menggunakan 10% tepung rumput laut terfermentasi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan prosedur analisis ragam ( Analysis of Variance / ANOVA) dengan uji F pada taraf 5 % dan apabila hasil analisis menunjukkan pengaruh perlakuan yang nyata akan dilanjutkan dengan uji wilayah ganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan tepung rumput laut ( Gracilaria verrucosa ) terfermentasi dalam ransum dengan taraf 5%, 7,5% hingga 10% dan 5% tepung rumput laut tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap bobot hidup, bobot karkas, persentase karkas, bobot non karkas, persentase non karkas dan potongan karkas. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh yaitu penggunaan tepung rumput laut ( Gracilaria verrucosa ) terfermentasi dalam ransum ayam broiler dapat digunakan hingga taraf 10%. The data obtained were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) F-test with level 5% and if the result of the analysis showed significant effect of treatment will be followed by Duncan's test. The results showed that treatment using seaweed meal fermented with 5%; 7.5% 10% and 5% using seaweed meal 5% no significant effect on live weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, non carcass weight, percentage of non-carcass and carcass cut portion. The conclution of the research were fermented seaweed meal can be used in the broiler diet until 10%. Key word : fermented seaweed meal; broiler chicken; carcass production

Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan November-Desember 2013 di Kandang Fakultas Peternakan dan Pertanian Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang. Materi yang digunakan adalah 150 ekor ayam broiler jantan dan betina umur 7 hari dengan bobot badan rata-rata 163,38 ± 24,67 g (CV 3,04). Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan yang tiap unit percobaan diisi 5 ekor ayam broiler. Perlakuan pakan yang diterapkan adalah T0 (penggunaan 0% tepung rumput laut), T1 (penggunaan 5% tepung rumput laut), T2 (penggunaan 5% tepung rumput laut terfermentasi), T3 (penggunaan 7,5% tepung rumput laut terfenmentasi), T4 (penggunaan 10% tepung rumput laut terfermentasi). Pemberian pakan diberikan secara adlibitum dan terkontrol. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini meliputi : pertambahan bobot badan, konsumsi ransum dan konversi ransum. Data dianalisis ragam menggunakan uji F dan dilanjutkan uji Duncan jika ada pengaruh perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi ransum. Kesimpulan bahwa penggunaan tepung rumput laut G. verrucosa terfermentasi dapat digunakan dalam ransum ayam broiler sampai dengan 10%. Feed treatment applied is T0 (use 0% seaweed meal), T1 (use 5% seaweed meal), T2 (use 5% meal fermented seaweed), T3 (7.5% use meal fermented seaweed), T4 (use 10% meal fermented seaweed). Feeding adlibitum administered and controlled. Parameters observed in this study include: weight gain, feed intake and feed conversion. Data were analyzed using a variety of testing and continued F Duncan test if the effect of treatment. The results showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on feed consumtion, body weight gain and feed conversion.   • The Utilization of Gracilaria verrucosa as Fish Processing Wastewater Biofilter

    Abstract:

    Wastewater from the smoked-fish processing industry has been known to cause water pollution in Pengadulan Estuary, Jepara. This research aimed to assess the ability of Gracilaria verrucosa as biofilter for fish processing wastewater and investigate its growth rate. This study was conducted at the Center for Brackish Water Aquaculture (BBPBAP) Jepara from January to April 2019. This study used three different G. verucosa biomass in 60 L aquarium: 150 gram (A); 200 gram (B); and 250 gram (C) and control. The parameters observed in the study were seaweed biomass, nutrient uptake by seaweed, and water quality parameters: salinity, water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, TSS, BOD5 , ammonia (NH3 ), nitrate (NO3 ), and phosphate (PO4 ). The results showed that G. verrucosa decreased ammonia, phosphate, and nitrate by 67.6%, 96%, and 37.1%, respectively. The result of RGR value has increased on the 10th and 30th day whereas on the 20th day were declined. The highest RGR value obtained on the 10th day on Treatment 1, which is 2.1% per day. It can be inferred that G. verrucosa is capable of increasing the water quality and the nutrient uptake in fish processing wastewater. Therefore, G. verrucosa held potential as both ecologically and economically sustainable biofilter.

    Gracilaria verrucosa as biofilter can absorb and utilize inorganic nitrogen and phosphorus contained in pollutants for its growth. This research aims to know the ability of G. verrucosa as shrimp pond waste biofilter, to know the difference in the quality of shrimp pond wastewater before and after treatment, and to learn more about the absorption capacity of G. verrucosa capability against shrimp pond wastewater. The experiment was conducted on a laboratory scale using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of four treatments with three replications using G. verrucosa of different weights which were 100 g, 150 g, 200 g, and controls. The parameters observed in the study were water quality parameters, seaweed biomass, and seaweed absorption. The results obtained were temperature 27.2–30.1°C, TSS 7–76 mg.L-1 , pH 7.42–8.83, salinity 16–18 ppt, DO 1.7–5.3 mg.L-1 , biomass 74–210.7 g, ammonia effectively decreased on 10th day by 90%, nitrate on 20th day was 22.2% and phosphate value on 30th day was 20.1%. G. verrucosa absorbed nitrogen (N) 0.08% and phosphorus (P) 0.35%. G. verrucosa is potential as a biofilter and can be used as a species candidate for IMTA system.

Parameter yang diamati meliputi: bobot hidup, berat, panjang dan lebar tulang femur, tibia dan tarsometatarsus ayam broiler. Data yang diperoleh diolah secara statistik dengan analisis ragam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berat, panjang dan lebar tulang femur, tibia dan tarsometatarsus serta berat hidup ayam broiler tidak mengalami perubahan yang signifikan (P>0,05) dengan pemberian ransum menggunakan tepung rumput laut terfermentasi dalam ransum hingga level 10%. Simpulan yang diperoleh yaitu penggunaan tepung rumput laut (Gracilaria verrucosa) fermentasi dalam ransum ayam broiler dapat diberikan sampai dengan level 10%.
