ThomsonAbstract:A revision of the microcaddisfly genus Ascotrichia (Trichoptera, Hydroptilidae) is provided, including a generic diagnosis, illustrations, and descriptions of males. This genus is endemic to the Neotropical region and has been recorded from countries in northern South America. Adults of the genus are notable within the family for the contrasting black and green hairs on the forewings. A total of six species are treated, three described as new: Ascotrichia adirecta sp. n. (Brazil), A. hystricosa sp. n. (Brazil), and A. simoma sp. n. (Brazil).

ThomsonAbstract:Two new species of Hydroptilidae (Trichoptera) from Brazil are described: Betrichia alibrachia sp. n. and Leucotrichia bicornuta sp.n. Both genera are members of the subfamily Leucotrichiinae. Illustrations of male genitalia are provided with each description. These additions bring the total world fauna of Betrichia to 9 species and Leucotrichia to 29 species.

BlahnikAbstract:We present here a list of Trichoptera species recorded in the literature from Brazil as of September 2003. The total number of species recorded for Brazil is 378. The most diverse family is Hydropsychidae with 103 species; the second most diverse is Hydroptilidae with 50 species, followed by Leptoceridae and Philopotamidae with 41 each. Distributions by state and additional literature relevant to Brazilian Trichoptera are also presented.

Zootaxa, 2020Co-Authors: Tomiko ItoAbstract:The caddisfly genus Stactobiella Martynov (Hydroptilidae) is revised for Japan, with revisions of two Far East Asian species, one newly recorded for Japan, and the description of three new species. Both S. tshistjakovi (Arefina Morse, in Arefina et al. 2002) and S. biramosa Martynov 1929 are redescribed, based on male and female specimens. The three new Japanese species are S. aichi sp. nov., S. amami sp. nov., and S. kumejima sp. nov., bringing to five the number of species of Stactobiella known for Japan.

Males are redescribed for 6 known species, Stactobia japonica Iwata, S . makartschenkoi Botosaneanu & Levanidova, S. inexpectata Botosaneanu & Nozaki, S. hattorii Botosaneanu & Nozaki, S. nishimotoi Botosaneanu & Nozaki, and S. distinguenda Botosaneanu & Nozaki. Six new species are described, also based on males: S. kanagawa , S. gunma , S. chichibu , S. yona , S. urauchi , and S. campire . A Taiwanese species, S. semele Malicky & Chantaramongkol, is recorded from Japan for the first time. Final instar larvae and their cases of 8 species and early instar larvae of 2 species are also described.

The male of a Japanese species, P. ishiharai (Utsunomiya 1994) is redescribed with new distribution records. A new species, P. funatsuki sp. nov., is described from the southernmost region of Japan. Pseudoxyethira thingana (Olah 1989), known from Vietnam and southern China, is recorded from Japan for the first time, and its male is redescribed.
