the right to food beyond de mythification time to shed the Inferiority Complex of socio economic rights
2015Co-Authors: Ioana CismasAbstract:This Practitioner’s Comment recognizes that continuous normative development, increased justiciability and incessant affirmation is integral to a better protection of the right to food, and of other human rights, be they economic, social and cultural rights, or indeed civil and political ones. At the same, it argues that we have reached the stage where it is time to shed the Complex of normative Inferiority, the obsession with establishing a bourgeois pedigree for economic, social and cultural rights, and the defensive stance when confronted with cost and intrusiveness arguments. Shaping law and policy so as to remove discrimination and target social inequalities, should be the new plea for the human rights movement.

digital divide and computer literacy from sociological perspective a case study among malay male and female teenagers
Social Science Research Network, 2012Co-Authors: Khauthar IsmailAbstract:The major objective of this research is to find out the different levels of computer literacy among Malay male and female teenagers. The methods used in this research were survey and field observation. In this research, three independent variables were tested, namely, gender, location and socio-economic factors. The result shows that the two most influential factors are gender and socio-economic. The study proofs that gender variables such as lack of confidence, Inferiority Complex and gender stereotypes are the factors affecting digital divide among male and female respondents. However, the gender stereotype among respondents is only limited to the level of expertise among genders and not on the treatment in the ICTL class. In addition, gender also contributed to the different levels of computer usage. In fact, the study discovers that location and area of the respondents’ houses do not contribute to the digital divide. However, the location and condition of the cyber cafe do contribute to the digital divide among the respondents. Meanwhile in the socio-economic variables; the amount of the family’s income and the parents’ educational background do contribute to the different levels of computer literacy. Family’s income is important in measuring the affordability to have a computer and subscribing to the Internet. Meanwhile, parents’ educational level is important in measuring the perception parents’ on the usage of computer. The levels of parents’ education is related to the gender stereotype and Inferiority Complex among the respondents.

research on influencing factors and Inferiority Complex in adolescents with funnel chest
China Medical Equipment, 2013Co-Authors: Luo Li, Xiao LijunAbstract:Objective:To explore the influencing factors and Inferiority Complex in adolescents with funnel chest and analyze the relationship between funnel chest index and Inferiority. Methods:One hundred adolescents with funnel chest were selected from a third-grade class-A hospital of Beijing. This study adopted funnel chest index to be the independent variable and variables in funnel chest patients to be the dependent variables. We observed physiological and psychological features of funnel chest patients by FIS assessment tools. Results:Patients with higher funnel chest index score are more self-contemptuous.The difference was statistically significant (F=13.253,P0.0001).We found that the Inferiority score between the two groups (higher than 2.52 and lower than 2.52) was statistically significant. Conclusion:Patients with higher funnel chest score are more self-contemptuous.

The purpose of this study was to investigate how bipolar disorder affects a person’s identity. In this qualitative study ten in-depth interviewes were conducted. The interviews were seperated into pieces that were assigned a specific code and a thematic analysis was performed. Four themes were identified: perception of identity, acceptance, parenting and the impact of the illness on life. The majority of the participants stated that the disease is part of their identity, which contradicts previous research. Acceptance is stated to occur in various stages and simplifies life once the disease is well accepted, reasearch supports this finding. Participants described a fear that the disease will affect parenthood or that the disease has already affected parenthood. Several participants stated that the disease has led to failed parenting which, according to previous research, can lead to Inferiority Complex. The disease is predominantly affecting life negatively and creating disability. Several participants stated that the disease has been an obstacle in their career and according to research this can also have a negative impact on the participants’ perception of their own value. In this study, bipolar disorder is considered to have a strong negative impact on identity. Continued research should focus on “mixed-methods” studies with quantitative correlations between for example type of bipolar disorder and level of disability.
