ICCST - An Integrated internet of everything — Genetic algorithms controller — Artificial neural networks framework for Security/safety Systems management and support
2017 International Carnahan Conference on Security Technology (ICCST), 2017Co-Authors: Fabio Garzia, Mara Lombardi, Soodamani RamalingamAbstract:Security/Safety is managed, mostly, by means of Integrated Systems which have to consider, more and more, sensors, devices, cameras, mobile terminals, wearable devices, etc. that use wireless networks, to ensure protection of people and/or tangible/intangible assets from voluntary attacks, allowing also the safe management of the related consequent emergency situations that can derive from the above mentioned voluntary attacks. These aims can be achieved using Integrated Systems and innovative technologies, such as Internet of Everything (IoE) which can connect people, things (mobile terminals, smart sensors, devices, actuators; wearable devices; etc.), data/information/knowledge and particular processes. An Integrated Security System can therefore be considered as an IoE System where several devices, sensors, cameras, people, etc. interact, generating a huge volume of data and information that is necessary to transmit, analyze and eventually store for Security purposes and, ultimately, for emergency management derived from voluntary attacks. This means that it is necessary to use suitable tools capable of analyzing, in a smart way, the huge volume of information to achieve the desired Security/safety objectives and eventual emergency management of critical situations. The purpose of the paper is to illustrate an Integrated IoE-GACs-ANNs based framework which can support and manage Security/safety Systems that operate in complex environments, characterized by a multitude of sensors, devices, etc. and the related results obtained from theoretical, computational and practical point of view, where it has been applied.

A Study on the Integrated Security System based Real-time Network Packet Deep Inspection
International journal of security and its applications, 2014Co-Authors: Chang-su MoonAbstract:With the volume of Internet communication continuing to increase, there are more cases of worm and virus intrusion through the network. The Security System against external attacks that use various Security vulnerabilities consists of firewall and intrusion detection and prevention subSystem, and its functionality is becoming more advanced. As indicated by the recent Security issues and intrusion cases, however, APT attacks and worm and hacking must be dealt with continuously. As such, enterprises are investing in various measures for an Integrated Security System to identify the threats of network Security-based Security vulnerabilities and cope with theme effectively. This paper proposes a network packet indepth test-based, Integrated Security System that analyzes the threat factors through a total study of network packets circulated in realtime and applies various Security functions to cope with intelligent Security threats in the future.

Modeling of an RFID Technology as a Reporting Mechanism in Vehicle Tracking System
2017Co-Authors: Mamudu HamiduAbstract:Integrated vehicle tracking research has been on the rise as both public and private sectors use the facility in acquiring real time management information to enhance their business processes. It is predominantly used for monitoring and tracking but may not be able to report incidents. The research proposes a design to effectively communicate from the vehicle any incident which may happen on a highway. The design involves combined wireless technology using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Global System for mobile Communication (GSM), and Global Position Satellite (GPS). It is based on the use of RFID as a communication tool from the driver of a vehicle to a local database server. This design termed Transport Highway Integrated Security System (THISS) will bridge the gap in the combined wireless technology by providing access to the driver with a key tagged RFID to help transmit prioritized signal via anin-the-vehicle unit to communicate the real time location of an incident.

The main priorities are the three main incidents that are frequent on the high-way such as; robbery, accident and mechanical faults. When these occurrences happen, there’s usually difficulty in placing direct mobile communications for help or assistance.

Mobile Technologies Applications in Security Systems
2007 29th International Conference on Information Technology Interfaces, 2007Co-Authors: Algimantas Valinevicius, M. Zilys, Sarunas KiliusAbstract:On the improvement of the information technologies, the Security Systems are improving more and more as well, the extent of their integration is increasing too. The efficiency of the Integrated Security System is subject to the detection time, reaction time, and the time of determination of the location of breach. The reaction time consists of the two components: information transmission time and the time of arrival of the mobile patrol crew. The signal transmission time may be optimized by alternating the signal transmission channel type or the number. The goal of this paper is to study the possibility of feasible application of second generation (2 G) and the third generation (3 G) mobile network technologies in the electronic Security Systems.

Information flow model of Integrated Security System
26th International Conference on Information Technology Interfaces 2004., 2004Co-Authors: Algimantas Valinevicius, M. Zilys, Danielius EidukasAbstract:The goal of this paper is to study the effectivity and reliability of signal transferring by Security Systems via communication channels, as well as to define the main criteria of the available communication channels affecting the total response time of Security Systems. This paper mainly models and empirically solves the following tasks: application of information theory on streams in telecommunication Systems to Integrated Security Systems and calculations of System losses. With respect to the fundamentals of massive service Systems, a model is imitated for the Security Systems. Using this model, experiments on the reliability and effectiveness of Security Systems are performed, so as to find more effective and reliable operating algorithms for Security Systems

Statistical Modelling of Integrated Security System
Elektronika Ir Elektrotechnika, 2003Co-Authors: Danielius Eidukas, M. Zilys, Algimantas Valinevicius, D. ZavackisAbstract:Integrated Security Systems (ISS) are used most frequently at present. An ISS is the whole of technical tools created for transferringof alarm and service information as well as remote control commands to the central Security station through communication channels.Aiming to decrease losses within the System, it is necessary to model an optimal number of communication channels within the SecuritySystem and algorithms for selection of a communication channel, which could increase effectiveness and reliability of the System. Inorder to be able to perform modeling of the optimal number of the Security System’s connection channels as well as algorithms forselection of connection channels which would increase effectiveness and reliability of the System, we have used the “Arena” softwarepackage, by creating in its elemental base a digital model of the Integrated Security System without the influence of interferingparameters of the communication channels. Research has been made using streams of real Security Systems, which emerge out of the300 different purpose and different distribution objects of Kaunas city. The modeling results enable us to define the maximum permittedevent streams, where delay of registration of alarm and service events changes insignificantly. More significant increase in registrationdelays, when the streams are more intense, may be a cause of non-reliable work of the Security System. Simulative Model of Integrated Security System
Elektronika Ir Elektrotechnika, 2001Co-Authors: M. Zilys, Algimantas ValineviciusAbstract:The motivation to write this work was induced by the need to evaluate the parameters of Security Systems, to analyze in detail the processes, which occur in Security System evaluation and suggest the possible ways of their optimization. Nowadays the standpoint of evaluating Security Systems efficiency is rather limited. The Systems are evaluated only according to the efficiency of elements, which make up the System and their number. Without considering the global System’s parameters (the response time, algorithm of strategy choice, the intensity of the events stream, intrusion time) the Security System, even if it consists of the most efficient equipment might be not effective. The experimental influence stream analysis of Integrated Security System was conducted. The Integrated Security System model which uses the real accumulated experimental event arrays, allows to simulate the processes which occur in the real Security System, modify the loading of the response stream and foresee the possibility of the next intrusion as well as to arrange the response team properly.
