They do focused searching for specific published information for themselves (for instance for evidence-based librarianship or collection development) or as intermediary searchers for their clients. Library schools' full semester courses in this subject usually are electives, so this article is an introduction for some and a review for others.

An illustrative example shows how Expert knowledge is used to deduce fault situations. In this example, qualitative representation of numerical variables of process is used to Interface Expert knowledge and process variables. The goal is to use this new information to deduce abnormal situations that can not be differentiate from the normal evolution of process dynamics using only data available from process. The evolution of process variables and abstracted information are used as inputs for the reasoning modules.

Information Technology Interfaces, 2009Co-Authors: Cecilia Sosa Arias PeixotoAbstract:The Agile Method known as Scrum has been widely adopted in many companies due to its ability to handle scope changes and produce tangible deliverables at a fast rate. This article presents some limitations of Agile Methods and the results of using Scrum in a specific project. It was found that good practice in development of human computer Interfaces have been left aside in favor of reducing sprint duration. The developers almost always “listen to what customers say instead of watch what customers do.” This behavior has a tendency to negatively impact usability. This article proposes an Expert System to help developers design Human-Computer Interfaces.
