  • diagnosis and treatment for primary small Intestine Lymphoma of 30 cases
Journal of Tianjin Medical University, 2006
    Co-Authors: Wang Pengzhi
    Abstract:

Objective:To analyze and summarize the clinical and pathological features for primary smalt Intestine Lymphoma.Methods:30 cases with primary small Intestine Lymphoma from 1991 to 2004 were studied retrospectively. All patients were identified by postoperative histopathological examination. Results:The main clinical features of these patients consisted of occult bleeding in digestive tract, mild abdominal pain, abdominal mass and gradual losing of body weight. In all cases,43.3% patients had the definite diagnosis of small bowel tumor preoperatively. The 30 cases were respectively undergone curative operation(66.7%,20/30),resection main tumor(16.7%,5/30)or palliative operation(16.7%,5/30)including gut bypass, biopsy and laparotomy. The postoperative pathology of all the patients was non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma,27 were B cell type,3 were T cell type. There were 18 cases with regional node metastases by pathologic examination.Overall 1-year survival rate was 66.7%.Conclusion:Primary small Intestine Lymphoma is rare tumors of alimentary tract. The preoperative diagnosis accuracy can be improved by appropriate application of instrument. The radical operation might be the best decision.

  • Experience of the diagnosis and treatment of primary small Intestine Lymphoma
    Chinese journal of surgery, 2010
    Co-Authors: Gui-tian Huang
    Abstract:

OBJECTIVE: To report the experiences of the diagnosis and treatment of primary Lymphoma of the small Intestine (PSIL). METHODS: The clinical data of 15 patients with PSIL treated from January 2003 to July 2007 was investigated retrospectively. Of the 15 cases, 9 patients were male and 6 were female, the average age was 51.6 years (range, 18 - 73 years). Data of gender, age, clinical manifestation, laboratory examination, imageology examination, diagnosis and treatment of the patients was reviewed. RESULTS: The most common clinical manifestations were as follow: abdominal pain, abdominal lump, bowel obstruction, gastrointestinal hemorrhage and athrepsy. Serum tumor markers were checked normal. All the 15 cases were found with tumor by spiral CT, and 12 cases were diagnosed as PSIL. Eleven cases were given Ba-meal examinations, and positive results was found in 4 cases, and only 1 case was considered to be PSIL. All the 15 patients received operation. All the patients were diagnosed as non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL) by postoperative pathology (8 patients as diffuse large B-cell Lymphoma, 5 as mucosa associated lymphoid tissue type B cell Lymphoma and 2 as enteropathy-type intestinal T cell Lymphoma). No perioperative death occurred. Ten patients received adjuvant chemotherapy with the regimen of CHOP (cyclophosphamide + epirubicin + vincristine + prednisone) after the operation. Fourteen cases were followed-up for a mean time of 30 months (range, 6 - 52 months). The 1- and 3-years survival rate was 85.7% and 57.1%, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: PSIL has no specific clinical manifestations, the diagnostic rate with barium study is low, spiral CT scan is a promising diagnostic method for PSIL. Operation combined with chemotherapy is important for PSIL.

  • Primary Lymphomas of the Small Intestine:a Report of 6 Cases and Review of Literature
    Progress in Modern Biomedicine, 2020
    Co-Authors: Fang Ha
    Abstract:

Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics, diagnosis and therapy of primary Lymphoma in the small Intestine. Methods:The clinical data of 6 cases with primary small Intestine Lymphoma from 1997 to 2012 were retrospectively studied, and the clinical features were summarized. At the same time a review of literature was made. Results:The main clinical features of these patients consisted of occult bleeding in digestive tract, mild abdominal pain, abdominal mass and gradual losing of body weight. However, the positive rate is lower. It play important role in support of the diagnosis of this disease for MSCT and MRE.The postoperative pathology of all the patients wasnon- Hodgkin's Lymphoma,4 were B cell type,2 were T cell type. There were 4 cases with regional node metastases by pathologic examination.4 cases were maken surgical resection,2 were maken Chemotherapy,2 deaths. Conclusion:The effective inspection method can improve the preoperative diagnosis of small intestinal tumor, and reduce the incidence of the disease diagnosis.Operation treatment is the main method of the disease, after the surgery with chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment can improve the survival rate of patients.

  • Primary Lymphomas of the Small Intestine:a Report of 12 Cases and Review of Literature
Chinese journal of Clinical Medicine, 2020
    Co-Authors: Tu Chuantao
    Abstract:

Objective:To discuss the clinical characteristics, diagnosis and therapy of primary Lymphoma in the small Intestine. Methods:The clinical data of 12 cases with primary small Intestine Lymphoma from 2003 to 2008 were studied retrospectively. At the same time we made a review of literature. Results:The main clinical features of these patients consisted of mild abdominal pain or discomfort(100%),abdominal mass(50%),abdominal distension(41.7%).Abdominal mass were detected by CT in 11 patients. The 12 cases were respectively undergone curative operation. The postoperative pathology of all the patients was non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma,9 cases(75%)were diagnosed as B-cell Lymphoma, and 3 were T cell type. Conclusion:Presenting features of primary small Intestine Lymphoma are often uncharacteristic.Abdominal mass and small bowel obstruction are the important clues to diagnosis, and Certified Diagnosis depends on tissue biopsy.Combined surgery and chemotherapy were effective.

  • 6 cases of small Intestine Lymphoma
    Il Giornale di chirurgia, 1995
    Co-Authors: Sartini M, Guglielmo N, Canevelli N, Calandra A, Russo L, Benigno A
    Abstract:

The Authors report six cases of primitive and secondary intestinal Lymphomas. Surgical radicality was achieved only in three of them. In the other cases surgical resection carried out in emergency and late histological diagnosis did not allow a correct surgical treatment. Peri-operative mortality was 16%. Five patients underwent adequate radiation and chemo-therapy programme. Recurrences, secondary localizations, or other neoplasms elsewhere, require a prolonged follow up period for these patients.
