  • Experimental Research on Crushing Force and its Distribution Feature in Jaw Crusher
2007 2nd IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications, 2007
Co-Authors: Cao Jinxi, Rong Xingfu, Qin Zhiyu, Yang Shichun
    Abstract:

Based on the analysis of the liner movement and the crushing parameters, the normal pressure on the liner is adopted to describe the crushing force. A small experimental Jaw Crusher is used in the experiments, in which strain gauges and the multi-channel data collecting method are employed. With the measured results of the compressing force on the liner, the research on crushing force in Jaw Crusher is developed. Under a choke feed level the experiments to measure the forces on the moving liner are carried out with different outlet sizes and rotational speeds of eccentric shaft. Due to randomness of particle breakage in crushing chamber, the statistic method is used to process the testing data. The force distribution is analyzed with the different operational parameters, so the distribution feature of the force on the liner is obtained.

  • Investigation on Kinetic Features of Multi-Liners in Coupler Plane of Single Toggle Jaw Crusher
2007 2nd IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications, 2007
Co-Authors: Cao Jinxi, Rong Xingfu, Qin Zhiyu, Wang Guopeng, Yang Shichun
    Abstract:

A Jaw Crusher is a kind of size reduction machine which is widely used in mineral, aggregates and metallurgy fields. The performance of Jaw Crusher is mainly determined by the kinetic characteristic of the liner during the crushing process. The practical kinetic characteristic of the liners which are located in certain domain of the coupler plane are computed and discussed. Based on those computing results and analysis for the points chosen from the liners paralleling coupler plane, unique swing features and kinematics arguments are determined in order to build the kinetic characteristic arguments. The job is helpful for a design of new prototype of this kind of machine on optimizing the frame, designing the chamber and recognizing the crushing character.

  • Analysis of the Single Toggle Jaw Crusher Force Transmission Characteristics
    The Journal of Engineering, 2016
    Co-Authors: Moses Frank Oduori, D M Munyasi, S M Mutuli
    Abstract:

This paper sets out to perform a static force analysis of the single toggle Jaw Crusher mechanism and to obtain the force transmission characteristics of the mechanism. In order to obtain force transmission metrics that are characteristic of the structure of the mechanism, such influences as friction, dead weight, and inertia are considered to be extraneous and neglected. Equations are obtained by considering the balance of forces at the moving joints and appropriately relating these to the input torque and the output torque. A mechanical advantage, the corresponding transmitted torque, and the variations thereof, during the cycle of motion of the mechanism, are obtained. The mechanical advantage that characterizes the mechanism is calculated as the mean value over the active crushing stroke of the mechanism. The force transmission characteristics can be used as criteria for the comparison of different Jaw Crusher mechanism designs in order to select the most suitable design for a given application. The equations obtained can also be used in estimating the forces sustained by the components of the mechanism.

  • analysis of the single toggle Jaw Crusher kinematics
Journal of Engineering Design and Technology, 2015
    Co-Authors: Moses Frank Oduori, S M Mutuli, D M Munyasi
    Abstract:

Purpose – This paper aims to obtain equations that can be used to describe the motion of any given point in the swing Jaw of a single toggle Jaw Crusher. Design/methodology/approach – The swing Jaw drive mechanism of a single toggle Jaw Crusher is modelled as a planar crank and rocker mechanism with the swing Jaw as the coupler link. Starting with the vector loop closure equation for the mechanism, equations of the position, velocity and acceleration of any given point in the swing Jaw are obtained. Findings – Application of the kinematical equations that were obtained is demonstrated using the dimensional data of a practical single toggle Jaw Crusher. Thus, a description of the kinematics of any given point in the swing Jaw of a single toggle Jaw Crusher is realized. Originality/value – The model of the single toggle Jaw Crusher mechanism as a planar crank and rocker mechanism is a realistic one. The equations obtained in this paper should be useful in further studies on the mechanics and design of the s...
