The review also focuses on whether muscle deficits can be modified in Knee Osteoarthritis and whether improvements in muscle function lead to improved symptoms and joint structure. The review concludes with a discussion of exercise prescription for muscle rehabilitation in Knee Osteoarthritis.

Obesity and Knee Osteoarthritis.

KeanAbstract:Background The association between obesity and Knee Osteoarthritis, and specifically the role of obesity as a risk factor for Knee Osteoarthritis has been well documented. A systematic review and meta-analysis by Blagojevic et al. in Osteoarthr Cartil 18(1):24–33, (2010) examined 36 papers reporting on BMI and found that all studies demonstrated obesity and being overweight to be risk factors for Knee Osteoarthritis. The effect size for obesity as a risk factor for Knee OA was reported to be I2 = 97%, and the random effects pooled odds ratio for obesity compared to normal weight was 2.63 with a 95% CI of 2.28–3.05.

Proprioception is critical to the maintenance of joint stability. Studies have demonstrated that proprioception is less accurate in patients with Knee Osteoarthritis versus elderly control subjects, in healthy older versus younger subjects, and in the setting of other conditions affecting the Knee including anterior cruciate ligament deficiency and hypermobility syndrome. Possible pathways between proprioceptive inaccuracy, Knee Osteoarthritis, and related Knee disorders are described.

Study on treatment for Knee Osteoarthritis by medical ozone

Methods: One hundred forty-six patients with Knee Osteoarthritis were injected ozone by articular cavity after washing,which were followed-up and analysed. Results: The Knee joint function of after treatment in 1 and 6 months significantly improved than that of pre-treatment (P0.05), however, no significant difference was found between after treatment in 1 and 6 months (P0.05).Conclusion: Effect of treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis was significant by medical ozone.

The wedge insole for the treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis: A systematic review protocol.

Wedge insole can be sued for treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis. Hence, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to explicit the efficacy of wedge insole in the treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis. Methods A systematic literature search for studies will be performed in MEDLINE, Embase, the Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure Database (CNKI), Cochrane Library, Web of Science. The methodological quality of the included studies using the risk bias assessment tool of Cochrane. Funnel plot will be used to assess the reporting bias. And the level of evidence for results are assessed by the GRADE method. Statistical analysis is conducted with Revman 5.3. Results This systematic review and meta-analysis will provide a synthesis of evidences for wedge insole on Knee Osteoarthritis. Conclusion The conclusion of this study will provide recommendations to assess effectiveness of exercise on Knee Osteoarthritis, which may further guide clinical practice.
