  • Analysis on Plant Design in Landscape Design
    Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
    Co-Authors: Yong Zhang
    Abstract:

The urban Landscape Design in urban planning and construction attracts more and more people's attention. The plant configuration is an important factor in the Landscape Design. Improper plant configuration has aroused some problems in the Landscape Design which has become increasingly prominent in recent years. Sometimes we neglect the climate and soil characteristics of different areas and go to mimic the plant Landscape Design of other areas, only for getting the surface effects; or in the pursuit of the image project, we are anxious to transplant big trees from other places for Landscape Design; but ignore the geographical and cultural elements in Landscape Design; manage plant Design in isolation, only to find that plants are out of harmony with the surrounding environment; ignore the functions of plants as living beings.

  • Landscape Design: Integrating ecological, social, and economic considerations into conservation planning
    Wildlife Society Bulletin, 2016
Co-Authors: Anne M. Bartuszevige, Kyle A. Taylor, Alex B. Daniels, Michael F. Carter
    Abstract:

Landscape Design is a conservation planning process, described in the Landscape ecology literature, proposed to rectify the knowledge and implementation gap in planning that have limited the effectiveness of many conservation planning efforts. Use of Landscape Design bridges this gap through increased emphasis on the interdisciplinary nature of conservation planning and engagement of a stakeholder advisory team to create a conservation plan that resonates with biological, cultural, social, and economic realities of the area concerned. We define Landscape Design as a conservation planning process that integrates societal goals and values with established biological conservation goals, using science grounded in Landscape ecology to describe future scenarios where specific and measurable biological goals can be attained. First, we describe a Landscape Design process and provide examples from the literature and partnerships such as Connect the Connecticut and the Appalachian Landscape Conservation Cooperative. We follow by discussing a case study of a Landscape Design effort to conserve playa wetlands to support waterfowl goals for migrating waterfowl established in the North American Waterfowl Management Plan. We further highlight characteristics of a successfully completed Landscape Design. We conclude that Landscape Design is a powerful process that goes beyond identifying high-priority conservation assets and intended to be an action-oriented process. Landscape Design provides a framework for ensuring that conservation planning does not occur in a vacuum by ensuring social, cultural, and economic needs of people are recognized before valuable conservation dollars are expended. It provides a mechanism for understanding the effects of future Landscape drivers on natural resources and engages stakeholders in proactive discussions regarding conservation. The final result is a commitment by a partnership to a set of actions that will achieve the stated conservation goal. © 2016 The Wildlife Society.

  • Landscape Design for housing areas: a review
    2017
Co-Authors: Mohd Ramzi Mohd Hussain, Fitrynadia Mohd Shahli, Izawati Tukiman, Ismawi Zen
    Abstract:

This study presents the theoretical review of the importance of Landscape Design for housing areas. Landscape Design has become a significant effect for humans as well as all living things in order to provide a conducive living environment. Innovative Landscapes that incorporate ecologically ideas and strategic Design may help to prevent from extensive building heat gain, reduce the energy and water consumption as well as produce the natural and healthy ambience to the surrounding. The study framework covers four main aspects which are issues related to the housing Landscape Design, Landscape Design perceived the value of housing, the current needs and demands of Landscape Design and policies related to the importance of Landscape Design in housing development. The aim of the study is to highlight the demand for the proper Landscape Design that should be provided in any housing development. It is hoped that the study will contribute to further enrich the Landscape Design innovation as part of green and sustainable housing planning and development.

  • The application of process based on SketchUp in Landscape Design —A case of helv fuan shopping street Landscape Design of hudai
2010 International Conference on Computer Application and System Modeling (ICCASM 2010), 2010
Co-Authors: Zhou Lin, Guo Weimin, Luo Jing
    Abstract:

The purpose of this paper is to present computeraided Design strategies and processes for Landscape Design. Based on the software-SketchUp, our work explored the interaction relations between the concept and final result, outlined the relationship of application software and the integrated Landscape Design process model. According to the practice of domestic Landscape industry, this article analyzes the application of SketchUp-aided Design in integrating the characteristics of Landscape Design. The results clarified the features, approaches and procedure of Landscape Design where SketchUp is applied. Based on these, our work offered SketchUp-oriented Landscape Design strategies and processes, and presented a real Design cases. These strategies and processes are very useful for enhancing Designers' creative performances as well as improving work efficiency of Landscape Design.
