Pemanfaatan Kulit Kelinci Pewarnaan Secara Foltik Untuk Pembuatan Dompet

Materials used in this study were 33 pieces of combination tanned rabbit skin Leather foltik finished, consisted of 5 pieces having 0,25 sqft in wiclth of each, 9 pieces having 0,5 sqft of each, 9 pieces having 0,75 sqft of each, 7 pieces having 1 sqft of each and 3 pieces having 1,25 sqft of each, nylon fabric as lining, zipper and press stud buttons. Tanning and finishing process were caried out by Researcher group for Leather. Tanning process while from design preparation to Leather good making were accomplished by the Researcher group for Leather good. IRDLAI. The result of the study was 17 wallets in 5 designs. It can be concluded from the study that foltik finished rabbit skin Leather can be used as material in making wallet, so that those Leather will be once of conventional Leather Substitute. INTISARI Tujuan penelitian pemanfaatan kulit kelinci pewarnaan secara foltik untuk pembuatan dompet ialah untuk mengetahui segi teknis pembuatan barang kulit berupa dompet dari kulit kelinci, mendapatkan produk baru barang kulit dari kulit kelinci khususnya kulit kelinci pewarnaan secara foltik dengan cara membuat contoh-contoh propotipe berupa dompet sehingga dapat mengetahui cara-cara pembuatannya dengan baik dan benar, memanfaatkan kulit kelinci pada umumnya sehingga kulit kelinci dapat digunakan sebagai substitusi kulit konvensional. Menggunakan 33 lembar kulit kelinci samak kombinasi dengan pewarnaan secara foltik, terdiri dari : 5 lembar luas 0,25 sqft; 9 lembar luas 0,75 sqft, 7 lembar luas 1 sqft; dan 3 lembar luas 1,25 sqft, lapis menggunakan kain parasut, ritsluiting plastik serta kancing knop. Proses penyamakan serta pewarnaan kulit dilakukan oleh Kelompok Peneliti Proses Penyamakan Kulit sedang proses pembuatan desain sampai pembuatan barang kulit dilakukan di Kelompok Peneliti Barang Kulit, BBKKP. Hasil Penelitian telah dapat dibuat 17 buah dompet dengan 5 macam desain. Kesimpulan yang didapat dari penelitian ini ialah bahwa kulit kelinci pewarnaan secara foltik dapat digunakan sebagai bahan baku pembuatan dompet sehingga kulit kelinci dapat dipakai sebagai salah satu alternatif kulit konvensional

Dyed trimming, a Leather industry waste, is often dumped near the industrial site and is used for land filling. Recycling of such industrial wastes for making useful products by substituting Leather has been investigated and reported here. Flexible composite sheets were made from dyed trimmings only and also in combination with natural fibres in various blend ratios. Wastes from jute and cotton were used as sources of natural fibres. The composite sheets showed maximum tensile strength and breaking loads at 50:50 blend ratios of dyed trimmings and natural fibres. The ultimate tensile strength, elongation, double fold, bursting strength, density and water and oil absorption characteristics of the composite sheets were determined as per American Society for Testing and Materials and Indian Standard methods. The products, i.e. the composite sheets, and the starting materials, i.e. the dyed trimmings and jute and cotton fibres, were also characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and scanning electron microscopy. Energy-dispersive X-ray analysis of both untreated and treated dyed trimmings was carried out and the presence of chromium 2.54% in untreated samples was recorded but the sample treated with NaOH did not show the presence of chromium. The natural fibre significantly improves the mechanical strength and thermal properties of the blended composite sheets with the increase in flexibility. These flexible sheets possess higher physical strength as compared to Leather and may be used as Leather Substitute for making apparels and goods.

Evaluating Mechanical Properties of Environmentally Friendly Leather Substitute (Eco-Leather)

Wool, Emma Sidoriak, Quan DanAbstract:Leather and pLeather (plastic Leather, mainly polyurethane and polyvinyl chloride PVC) are widely used materials in apparel and footwear products. According to the American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA, 2009), in 2008, the US consumption of footwear was 2.2 billion pairs, among which about one third were categorized as Leather products and one third as plastic/vinyl products. The chemical processes to convert raw animal hides to Leather, especially tanning, cause environmental pollution and human health problems. Chromium salts are used in about 90% of global tanning production (Nair et al., 2012).
