The key species Baltoniodus triangularis (Lindstrom), Trapezognathus quadrangulum (Lindstrom) and Erraticodon patu Cooper are present. A new species of the genus Baltoniodus (Baltoniodus cooperi sp. nov.) and elements of Periodon aff. P. flabellum are included in this conodont study. The key conodont B. triangularis indicates an age of lower Dapingian (Middle Ordovician) for the bearing strata. This was also recognized in other localities of the Eastern Cordillera, allowing their correlation. The conodonts from the Santa Gertrudis Formation provide conclusive elements on palaeogeographic interpretation by sharing species with Baltoscandia, South China and Australia, suggesting strong faunal affinities with these provinces.

Acta Musei Silesiae: Scientiae Naturales, 2011Co-Authors: Jan Ševčík, Olavi KurinaAbstract:A total of 17 species of Bolitophilidae, 4 species of Diadocidiidae, 2 species of Ditomyiidae and 25 species of Keroplatidae are recorded from the Gemer region in central Slovakia. The material was obtained mainly in the years 2008–2010 by means of Malaise traps and by individual collecting by the authors. Five species, Bolitophila spinigera Edwards, 1925, Antlemon servulum (Walker, 1837), Orfelia nigricornis (Fabricius, 1805), Macrocera maculata Meigen, 1818 and Macrocera zetterstedti Lundstrom, 1914, are recorded from Slovakia for the first time. The occurrence of Asindulum nigrum Latreille, 1805 in Slovakia is confirmed.

The material was obtained mainly in the years 2008–2011 by means of Malaise traps and by individual collecting by the authors. A new species of Mycetophila Meigen, M. gemerensis sp. n., is described and additional 47 species are recorded as new to Slovakia. A new synonym is proposed: Mycetophila quadra Lundstrom, 1909 = M. chamberlini (Laffoon, 1957) syn. n.

Fennica 14: 91‐97. Morphological differences between three Palaearctic species of Polylepta Winnertz — P. borealis Lundstrom, P. guttiventris (Zetterstedt) and P. zonata (Zetterstedt) — are discussed and detailed genital figures for males and females are given. Polylepta meridionalis Bechev, 1990 is shown to be a junior synonym of Polylepta zonata (Zetterstedt, 1852).

'Kaunas University of Technology (KTU)', 2016Co-Authors: Blažytė Diana, Liubinienė VilmantėAbstract:[...] Aiming to research translation strategies of CSI in the genre of popular science, Martin Lindstrom’s book Brand Sense: build powerful brands through touch, taste, smell, sight, and sound” (2005) and its Lithuanian translation Prekės ženklo jausmas, accomplished by Lina Krutulytė, was chosen. The analysis presented in this article is restricted to the group of common expressions denoting CSI, as translation of proper nouns follow the recommendations provided by the Lithuanian Language State Commission and were found to be less problematic as compared to the group of common expressions. For the analysis of translation strategies used to render culture-specific items, categorization of Davies (2003) was followed. To accomplish the research goals, descriptive, comparative and quantitative analysis was employed. The obtained results indicate that prevailing translation strategies used to render common expressions in the popular science book by Martin Lindstrom Brand Sense were literal translation, localization, preservation, and addition. No examples of omission or creation were observed. The analysis has revealed that the usage of translation strategies was inconsistent – homogenous and semantically similar CSI were rendered differently, using different translation strategies, thus the target text lacks cohesion and logical approach

Many researchers, linguists, and scientists deal with definition, recognition, classification and translation matters of culture-specific items, yet the consensus cannot be reached. Different definitions, interpretations, and even classifications, which strongly rely upon similar criteria, are offered. Therefore, the analysis of translation strategies used to render culture- specific items in popular science literature are very important and relevant to the overall analysis of cultural realia.
