transdermal permeation of geniposide in the herbal complex Liniment in vivo and in vitro
International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2010Co-Authors: Yugang Wang, Lele Li, Huiying Li, Michael M Kheir, Lijun DuAbstract:Abstract Zhongtong Caji, a kind of Liniment, is a traditional Chinese medicinal formula that is widely used for clinical treatment of inflammation and sprains. In this study, the principal effective compound of this formula, geniposide, was used as a criterion to represent the transdermal permeability of the whole formula. A passive diffusion of Zhongtong Caji through the stratum corneum was discovered by an in vitro experiment. The dosage–content relationship detected in subcutaneous tissue after in vivo drug administration was further evidence of its permeation. Blood analysis after different dosages showed that the geniposide could be absorbed and accumulated by subcutaneous tissue within 1 h after drug administration, and it would be eliminated by blood circulation 1 h after drug treatment.

Clinical Study on Acute Soft Tissue Injury Treated by Aescine Sodium Liniment
China Foreign Medical Treatment, 2013Co-Authors: Li LeAbstract:Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of Aescine Sodium Liniment in the treatment of soft tissue injury. Methods 150 cases of acute soft tissue injury were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, and they were treated with Aescine Sodium Liniment and Qizhengxiaotong emplastrum for a week, respectively. Integral difference of the patients in the aspects of pain, tenderness, swelling, dysfunction and so on was calculated before and after the treatment. Results Aescine Sodium Liniment can obviously improve the clinical symptoms and signs of the patients without any side effects, the total effective rate was higher than that of Qizhengxiaotong emplastrum group. Conclusion Aescine Sodium Liniment is an ideal drug for the treatment of soft tissue injury.

Clinical Research on TongLuo Liniment in Treating Acute Soft Tissue Injury
Western Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine, 2012Co-Authors: Li Xing-guoAbstract:Objective: To assess the efficacy and safety of TongLuo Liniment in treating acute soft tissue injury.Method: 172 patients with acute soft tissue injury were divided into TongLuo Liniment treatment group and ZhengGu Shui control group with a randomized,single-blind,parallel positive drug controlled method. Both groups were respectively applied with two kinds of drugs to the affected parts, three times/d,one course of treatment is 7 days. The changes of baseline including symptoms, signs and others of the patients were observed before and after the treatment.Result: The effects of treatment group were obviously superior to that of control group(P0.05).Clinical points after the treatment of treatment group decreased remarkably than that of control group(P0.05),There was no adverse effects occurred before and after the treatment. Conclusion: TongLuo Liniment is effective, safe and reliable in treating acute soft tissue injury.
