Twenty-three unsolved problems in hydrology (UPH) - a community perspective

The procedure involved a public consultation through online media, followed by two workshops through which a large number of potential science questions were collated, prioritised, and synthesised. In spite of the diversity of the participants (230 scientists in total), the process revealed much about community priorities and the state of our science: a preference for continuity in research questions rather than radical departures or redirections from past and current work. Questions remain focused on the process-based understanding of hydrological variability and causality at all space and time scales. Increased attention to environmental change drives a new emphasis on understanding how change propagates across interfaces within the hydrological system and across disciplinary boundaries. In particular, the expansion of the human footprint raises a new set of questions related to human interactions with nature and water cycle feedbacks in the context of complex water management problems. Comparison of Bariatric Branded Chewable Multivitamin/Multimineral Formulations to the 2016 American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Integrated Health Nutritional Guidelines

RobinsonAbstract:Postoperative vitamin and mineral supplementation are integral components of the management of the weight loss surgery patient. Supplements differ in type, amount, and salt form. No recent publication has compared bariatric branded commercially available products with current practice guidelines. Registered dietitians belonging to the New England Bariatric Dietitians Linkedin Group were surveyed to identify their recommendation practices. These results were then used to compare and discuss in a comprehensive fashion the most widely recommended bariatric branded chewable supplements to the 2016 American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Integrated Health Nutritional Guidelines.

2013Co-Authors: Johannes K Chiang, Collin SuenAbstract:This study examines the motivations for why Linkedin Group users read discussion posts and attempts to discover which factors predict motivations for using the discussion board within the Linkedin Group. Information seeking appeared as the strongest motivation for using the discussions, followed by efficiency, and entertainment. Hierarchical regression analysis reveals that perceived credibility of Linkedin Group will predict the motivation for reading the discussions. Based on the findings, this study presents implications and suggestions for future research.
