    Abstract:

    In the operation of a distribution system, Feeder Load variation could often make an overLoading of a Feeder, and it may increase the real losses and the violation of the operation constraints of the Feeder. To prevent this condition, it is good to reconfigurate the distribution network by changing the open or close status of the Feeder switches in a way that a Load transfer could be performed from a heavyLoad Feeder to a lightLoad one so that a Load balance could be reached. This research presents a complete algorithm for the planning of distribution network reconfiguration for reduction of the real losses, which begin from forecasting the Load, Feeder Load flow analysis, and finally distribution network reconfiguration. The three aspects were developed from previous work that was done by previous researchers. The effectiveness of the algorithm was demonstrated by conducting it on local power company distribution system. It was found that the proposed algorithm could produce real losses reduction with the maximum saving value of 10.36 %, Load balancing with the maximum depreciation value of Load difference of 78.71 %, and with no operation constraints violation on the distribution system Feeders, where the maximum depreciation or efficiency improvement of the Feeder pair operation constraint indicators, which was for drop voltage reached a maximum value of 13.77 %, while for conductor current reaches 12.74 %. It could be concluded that the distribution network reconfiguration planning effort proposed in this research was aplicable to be used in the field since it could improve the eficiency of the case study

    The invention relates to a control system for automatically switching wide areas of a wide area backup power supply of an electric power system. A main station end comprises a data acquisition unit, a data processing unit and a data sending unit, wherein the data acquisition unit acquires wide area state information and information on each switch of the electric power system; the data processing unit provides a Load Feeder inter-tripping list of a transformer station; the data sending unit transmits Load Feeder inter-tripping list to a plant station end; the plant station end is provided witha main control unit which comprises a receiving unit, a detecting unit and a processing execution unit; the receiving unit receives and stores the current Load Feeder inter-tripping list of the station; the detecting unit detects whether a conventional action condition is satisfied on line; and the processing execution unit switches on a line switch on a backup power supply side first, then cuts off a Load Feeder required to be cut off, and finally sends 'ready action' information to a main station. The remote control and the remote communication between the main station end and each plant station end are realized through a special communication network of the electric power system. The control system can achieve the effect of realizing 'wide area control' according to 'state information of all electric power systems', and has reliable action processes.
