Parallel trace-driven simulation of Packet-switched multiplexer under priority scheduling policy
Information Processing Letters, 1993Co-Authors: Yi-bing LinAbstract:Abstract We proposed an approximate parallel simulation for Packet Loss of Packet-switched multiplexer with priority scheduling policy. The speedup of the algorithm over the sequential simulation is O(N), where N is the number of processors. For Packets with priority level m, the number Lm of lost Packets computed in the algorithm is bounded by the exact number LmE within 2(N−1) Packets. That is, |Lm−LmE| ⩽2(N−1).

UDP LITE: Efficient model for video transmission by UDP lite protocol
2016 International Conference on Advanced Communication Control and Computing Technologies (ICACCCT), 2016Co-Authors: Awadhesh Kumar Shukla, Gagandeep Singh Kahlon, Mayank DubeyAbstract:This research work addresses issues of video trans-smission and presented a model that is used for transmission of video with the help of UDP Lite protocol. Before transmission of video, we are compressing the video by bitwise operator. This model is work for MJPEG format. The basic idea of this proposed model is that firstly we select the file which is in the form of video. Generally, in the computer network all the data is in the form of Packets or 0s or1s. These Packets are then compressed using bitwise operator. After compressing the Packets, we will use the transport protocol that is UDP Lite Protocol. In the UDP Lite protocol checksum is used for reducing the Packet Loss and in this model we use a program which is called an Error Trace Program by which we can know if there is any Loss of Packet. Generally, we can increase the number of Packets in an individual block by doing compression but only disadvantage is that some of the Packets are lost. Nowadays a number of audios, videos, images files are increasing continuously on internet. During transmission of these files, sometimes bits are Losses by many reasons and quality of data is reduced [1], [2]. So, this work improves the quality of data and increase the performance during transmission of data by managing the Packets.

An Enhanced Cluster Gateway Switch Routing Protocol (ECGSR) for Congestion Control using AODV Algorithm in MANET
International Journal of Computer Applications, 2015Co-Authors: K. Devarajan, V. PadmathilagamAbstract:In Mobile Ad-hoc networks, without any fixed access point the mobile nodes are formed randomly. The congestion may increase while the network traffic increases due to the dynamic topology of nodes and limited capacity of memory. In Ad-hoc networks, the congestion is an important issue because it will lead to Loss of Packet, long delay and overhead of Packets and so the performance of Ad-hoc networks also reduces. The congestion control is based on controlling the traffic in which too many Packets exist in the part of the subnet. This manuscript proposes the Enhanced Clusterhead Gateway Switch Routing Protocol (ECGSR) with the basis of Ad-hoc On-demand Distance Vector Routing (AODV) based mechanism for congestion control. In this process, the cluster head plays the main role in monitoring the congestion in Adhoc networks, by reducing the number of transmissions and by creating the routes on need. This proposed scheme is to reduce the Loss of Packets, routing overhead and end-to-end delay during the data Packet transmission. So it accomplishes the throughput, better Packet delivery ratio, low end-to-end delay and overhead by reducing the congestion in Ad-hoc networks using the chosen ECGSR protocol based on AODV basis. The ECGSR is well-organized to control the congestion than the Clusterhead Gateway Switch Routing Protocol (CGSR) with the basis of Destination Sequence Distance Vector (DSDV).
