Primary intracranial Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma
European Journal of Radiology Extra, 2003Co-Authors: Polat Koşucu, Ali Aydın Yavuz, Melek Nur Yavuz, Abdulkadir Reis, Ali AhmetoğluAbstract:Abstract Primary intracranial Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma is a very rare condition. It usually presents as a meningeal mass but may occurs intraaxially, as well. We present computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging findings of an intracerebral Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma in a 75-year-old woman with histopathological and clinical information.

Cutaneous metastatic Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma.
Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, 2003Co-Authors: Wook Lew, Ha Seong Lim, You Chan KimAbstract:Abstract Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma is the most common soft tissue sarcoma, but cutaneous metastasis of this tumor is quite rare. A 30-year-old female patient had several brownish 0.5 × 0.5-cm papules on her right ankle. Histopathologic examination revealed spindle-shaped tumor cells with cellular pleomorphism and high mitosis (5 of 10 high-power fields), suggestive of Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma. She had a history of left subcutaneous breast mass that was diagnosed as Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma 3 years earlier. We report a case of Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma with pleomorphism mixed with spindle-shaped cells and multinuclear giant cells, which metastasized to the skin. (J Am Acad Dermatol 2003;48:S39-40.)

Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma of spermatic cord.
Urology, 1993Co-Authors: Gaetano Ciancio, Francisco Civantos, Norman L. BlockAbstract:Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma occurs rarely in the genitourinary organs, and is exceptional in the spermatic cord. The prognosis of deep Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma not occurring in subcutaneous tissue or fascia is generally poor. We report a case, of Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma giant cell type, arising around the spermatic cord. The patient is alive without metastasis ten years after initial therapy. To our knowledge, this is the longest reported survivor of this disease. Radical inguinal orchiectomy along with wide en bloc local resection is the therapy of choice.

Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma of the pharynx.
American Journal of Roentgenology, 2005Co-Authors: Paras Lakhani, Stephen E. Rubesin, Paul J. ZhangAbstract:Lakhani P, Rubesin SE, Zhang PJ(AQ1) alignant Fibrous Histiocytoma refers to a group of aggressive soft-tissue tumors consisting of neoplastic mesenchymal cells with fibroblastic and histiocytic phenotypes [1]. Although Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma is the most common soft-tissue sarcoma diagnosed in adults, it rarely occurs in the pharynx. We recently encountered a Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma arising in the pharynx. To our knowledge, Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma involving the pharynx has not been reported in the radiology literature. We present a patient in whom a double-contrast videotape pharyngoesophagram revealed a polypoid mass in the posterior pharyngeal wall that, on pathology, was diagnosed as a Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma.
